I want to gain some muscle to help weight loss, but I do not consume enough protein?!

Question: I want to gain some muscle to help weight loss, but I do not consume enough protein!?
I do not like meat and I do not like beans!! (two great sources for protein!!!)!.!.!. I'm not a vegetarian, and occasionally I will eat meat (usually just chicken! Actually, my family has switched to using ground chicken rather than beef & other red meet)!.!.!.
Beans, i have NEVER liked!. I hate the texture!

My main diet consists of fruits, veggies, and whole grains!. I do use nuts and seeds in my foods (using them in salads, or in pasta) but I dont eat nuts on a daily basis!.!.!.so whatever protein I'm getting is comming mostly from whatever protein is in fruits and veggies!

I dont eat a lot of dairy either!. I dont like milk, sometimes I put a little bit of cheddar cheese in my salads, and I dont often eat yogurt!.

Asside from maybe eating more yogurt (which I'm not even sure has a sugnificant amount of protein in it)!.!.

What can I do to increase my daily amount of protein!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Contrary to popular belief, protein shakes and excess protein will not really help you build a lot of muscle!. You need to go to the gym and do weights consistently!. You should try to consume the recommended amount of protein!. People often don't need as much protein as they think they do!. You can find your recommended daily values on http://www!.mypyramid!.gov/

Do you like soy!? Soy products can contain a lot of protein!. Try looking into some soy recipes and learn to cook it and use it in different ways!. You can add soy to smoothies, salad, you can add it in cooking things- you can even make delicious desserts with soy!. I personally like moosewood cooking books!.

I think the recipes are quite tasty and very healthy!.

Try consuming more nuts as well!. Nuts are an excellent source of protein and since you like them, you should consume more!. However, don't snack on them and set out proportions that you think are appropriate!. Do not over think what you eat- eat what feels right in moderation- this will help you get out of the cycle of worrying about your weight!.

And about your weight- make out an exercise plan!. If you are not in the habit of exercising this can be difficult- but trust me, start today and do little steps each day and eventually (in a long time- this takes a while- but it works) you will be in shape!. I started really exercising like 2 years ago- and it takes a long time to feel fit- but once you are there you can look back and the feeling is really worth it!.

If you need to chat with anyone about it feel free to email me!. You can make the positive choice to change :) good luck! I believe you can do it- it's all in your mind- make the decision!!! You have it in you- trust me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you're not getting enough protein, i guess! because fruits and veggies do not have significant amounts of proteins!
would you eat tofu!?
I make amazing tofu burgers they taste better than meat chicken fish or any other meat!
maybe consulting a nutritionist for this is good for you!?
i wouldn't suggest peanut butter because you're trying to lose weight (and so am i and I'm vegan)
how about you try lentil soup!? it's doesn't taste like other legumes! and one more thing! there are other legumes with more protein than meat, chicken, and beans!
chick peas are great, try making hummus with them YUMMO!
homemade hummus is easy to make!
ill check back on this question to see if you want the recipe to any of the things i mentioned!
and if you want to lose 60 lbs i suggest you didn't gain so much muscle, because they weigh more than fat! I want to lose 65 lbs to get to the right weight!
Good luck to us both!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Protein is not your answer!. Metabolism is!.
To lose weight, you exercise!. That's it!. Easy!.
Take up a sport, and start exercising!. Running, cycling!.!.!. whatever!. Have you ever seen an overweight bicycle racer!? No, because one cannot be overweight at that level of exercise, no matter what one eats!. See, you can have a whole group of bicycle racers, and they all eat different diets, yet they are all thin and muscular!. Diet does not make you thin, exercise does!. But, diet helps you win, because those racers that eat a crappy diet will lack performance and will not be able to keep up to those that have a much better diet -- that's the difference!.

Protein!.!.!. it's everywhere!. It's in every living thing on the planet!. You cannot avoid it!. And no, you don't need very much!. And no one kind of protein is not better or worse than another!. Protein is protein!. Besides, you should think "amino acids" as our bodies make protein from amino acids!. We do not absorb whole proteins!. We break down whole proteins into amino acids, so obviously it's much more efficient to eat amino acids than whole proteins!. Look up the foods that have amino acids!. You will find that fruits are packed full of amino acids!. Yup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You need to follow a ballanced vegetarian diet and work out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try looking for a protein supplement at your local health food store!.

And a good balanced diet would be a great way to start!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
