How do you rinse quinoa?!


Question: How do you rinse quinoa!?
The box of quinoa says to rinse first and a nutrition website says the same, however I find that the grains are so small that it is an extremely diffucult task!. Any suggestions!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is important to rinse quinoa!. The grain has an unpleasant residue!. You need a fine mesh strainer, not just the basic collander with big holes!.

If all you have is a collander, line it with paper towels!. Coffee filters might work too, but I wouldn't be surprised if coffee filters get clogged up by the starches in quinoa (I haven't tried it)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I use a flour sieve for mine, seems to work ok! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

You need too use a sieve/sifter [for flour etc], NOT a collander [for pasta]

Put it in a mesh sieve or cheesecloth and run it under the tap for a minute!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
