Why do people get so offended if a person says they should reduce their meat intake?!
They don't get offended when someone says to limit their salt/sugar or processed food intake, so why are they so bitter about the meat thing only!?
By the way, I haven't said this to anyone!.!.!.just an observation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Among other things we live in a hyper individualistic society were personal freedom is more important than morality or health!. Personally I think it a bit entitled!.
If anyone wanted to challenge me on something they thought I was doing wrong I'd at least listen and consider!.
By getting mad it actually may indicate that one is not entirely comfortable with what it is they are being challenged on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It can b saying that someone is fat or needs to lose some weightWww@FoodAQ@Com
Probably because they've heard it a lot of times from vegetarians who have no real reason behind it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
ive never even heard someone tell someone else to reduce their meat intakeWww@FoodAQ@Com
Eating too much meat raises your cholesterol levels so telling someone they should limit how much meat they eat is not a bad thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
probably cuz its like telling them "Hey man you should be gay like me, and be a veggie"Www@FoodAQ@Com
They hate the thought of giving up their meat, even if its just alittle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I don't know!. It's just a protective thing, I guess!. I wouldn't get offended if someone told me I should reduce my soy product intake!. I would just tell them that there is no need for me to do so!. It is also the mature way to handle it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I noticed that too!. They put their defences up!.
Its a fact that high levels of meat in the western diet can cause MANY problems, so it makes sense to reduce intake!.
However, I don't eat meat at all, and I'm happy that way!.
Blessings!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

[Not all but only some people] Because deep down some know they should, and they simply don't want to admit that they could be living a healthier life style!. It's an ingrained part of their life style and for some it's a kin to questioning some peoples beliefs, that's probably why people get so jumpy when you or dietitians provide a legitimate suggestion!.
Wow love of truth "hyper individualistic society" that is the perfect way to describe much of the western world today, [not just in terms of diet but other social aspects too]!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can't speak for myself since I don't get offended but I believe they just don't want somebody telling them what to do!. When you tell somebody else that you think what they're doing is wrong and they should be like you, you overstep your bounds!. The reason you see it so much is because of the section you post in!. If there were a salt/sugar section the same thing would be going on!.
There's only a handful of bitter meaters that come in here anyways!. You can't judge 98% of the population (U!.S!.) by a handful of chuckleheads!. But just like you have done in this question, they treat you all as if you are all the same!.
On a daily basis I'm referred to here as obese, foul smelling, stupid, ignorant, a murderer, a troll etc!.!.!.!.!.I don't get upset about it but who could blame me if I did!?
One thing that does bother me though is when people like scottie block you for no apparent reason!. Since I've never done anything to him (as a matter of fact the only thing I ever did was point out that someone was impersonating him) I can only assume that I'm blocked simply because I disagree with some of his beliefs!. Maybe something like that would make the people you're referring to bitter as well!.
Blessings to you too, scottie!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

because people intrinsically know that meat is murder!. they dont want to think about the blood on their hands!. anyone saying anything about ones meat consumption makes them have to face that fact, which they dont want to!. simpley being vegetarian can sometimes make other people upset!. How dare you make them think!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I do not get offended by that statement!. Perhaps the reason for the hostility is there are people who would like to totally ban meat consumption!. I do not believe that about salt/sugar or processed food intake!. Since I retired I have already cut my meat intake considerable!. When I was working I could eat half a chicken at one meal!. Now my wife and I split half a breast!. I get furious at those that try to eliminate my meat consumption entirely!. Man has dominion over animals to use to their benefit!. Period!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
