If i want to make vegans happy, is it better to eat beef instead of chicken, since i could eat more chickens?!

Question: If i want to make vegans happy, is it better to eat beef instead of chicken, since i could eat more chickens!?
!.!.!.No vegan can ever answer this question!.!.!.which leads me to believe theyre simple 'emotional thinkers'!. One cow can feed me for a year!.!.!.while 200 chickens would be required for the same task!. So!.!.!.(and here is the key)!.!.!.if i HAD to eat beef or chicken!.!.!.which would be better and why!?

!.!.!.And PLEASE!.!.!.dont' waste your time with the typical stupid answer of !.!.!."it would be better to not eat either one"

!.!.!.Sorry, but i had to put that in since this simple point of reason seems to be a difficult one for the emotional thinker to get past!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

So, here's the typical "stupid answer!." In all honesty, if you want to make vegans *happy* you'll give up animal foods entirely!. We simply aren't happy about animals being slaughtered for food!. But it would be pretty ridiculous to eat like a vegan to make other vegans happy!.

Vegan writer John Robbins actually does address this in his books!. He talks about the frustration he feels that people seem almost universally to think of chicken as somehow "better" than beef (for a lot of reasons!.) He points out that if all you're doing is replacing the beef you'd otherwise eat with more chicken or fish than you'd otherwise eat, then you are just killing more animals!. If you were to stop eating beef and eat vegetarian meals instead of increasing your intake of other meats, this would be a moot point, but most people aren't doing that!.

If you were actually going to slaughter and butcher a cow, freeze it, and eat the WHOLE thing, without waste and without going out for fast food burgers in between, I'd take your question more seriously!. You'd be responsible for the death of one animal and that would be a vast improvement over the sheer number of animals most people eat in a year!. But I have my doubts that this scenario bears any resemblance to reality!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well considering vegans don't eat any meat at all, they would not be happy if you eat chicken or beef!.!. why do you care!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Only one cow!? I would need two for an entire year, but I would hope that I could have the second one halfway through, because I'm not sure it would keep that long, and my freezer isn't very big!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Eat both, and eat raw fish and brains, also a big plate of sheeps eyeballs!.They will love you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegans aren't what they are in order to make anyone like you happy!.
Lets assume you don't like broccoli and cabbage!. You simply hate it! Are you an emotional thinker then, or you just don't like any of the two!?
Who is wasting who's time here!? How can you dare to insult people by asking the most retarded question ever with "Dont' waste your time with the typical stupid answer!.!.!."
Stupid questions deserve stupid answers, dude!
So, yes, assuming that only one cow would have to die, it would be beef!. Are YOU happy now!? Get a life!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You are wasting my time with this question!.

You intentions are not to make vegans happy because of the nature of this question!.

It is like asking a mother/father to pick which child, the daughter or the son, will live and the other will be taken off and killed (like during the wars in which genocide was advocated)!.

You have no reasoning in this question!. And it is an amazing insight into the mind of an emotional thinker that you already grasp the notion of simple point of reasoning to be difficult!. One must grasp the notion in order to get past it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not going to speak for vegans since I'm not one but it would seem as if that would be the "compassionate" choice for meat eating if one had to be made!. If you were to raise butcher and store one cow for the year that would be a completely sustainable dietary choice provided that you let it graze and made few trips in town to buy grain!. The one thing I would point out is that chicken's brains are much smaller and their death is "quicker" so you'd probably have to figure that into the equation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

What you are trying to do ( a bit lamely if you don't mind me saying ) is get vegans to condone one choice or the other!.

i doubt they will do that, no matter how many insults you throw at them!.

Should i shoot your older or younger sister !? Refusing to answer that doesn't invalidate someone belief that murder is wrong, does it !?

Just because they refuse to answer does not make them "emotional thinkers"!. In many ways it proves they are completely rational thinkers who are refusing to pander to your nonsense!.

An average person does not eat 200 chickens in a year, thats laughable!. Have you ever seen or eaten a chicken !? Or are you still on childrens chicken nuggets !?

I'm assuming "dr" stands for "Deranged Ranter" and not that you have graduated from medical school or have a Ph!.D, am i right !?

Its a shame you only asked the question of vegans, why are you not interested in answers from vegetarians !?

Looking at your answer here, http://answers!.yahoo!.com/question/index;!.!.!. , it seems to me you probably don't even have any clue why you are in this section in the first place!. If you want to insult people, be a real man and do it face to face with someone in your local Alaskan Fishermans bar!.

EDIT: thankyou for your 2 hateful emails, i won't cut and paste them here, it would embarass you!. You did, however, reveal your true nature!. thanks for that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm sorry but this question sounds like a threat!. Like it came out from some movie about mobsters!. "Should I cut of your finger, or your ear!?" Why would you ever ask vegans a question like this!? It's like asking someone which one of their children they would rather sacrifice!.

So anyway to answer your question, I would say, have some chicken flavoured tofu, and have as much of it as you like! Bon apetite! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your own thinking is rather simplistic (and on the evidence of the link Michael H gives us, your spelling is appalling 'dr')

Quite apart from the logistics of someone consuming almost four whole chickens every week!.!.!. I don't demand or require that you make me happy; your dietary choices are your own and don't affect me in any way!.

What you imagine is a Sophie's Choice dilemma that will stump us simple thinkers is the same as all the 'If you were alone on a desert island with just a pig' type questions that appear on this board - silly, simplistic, hypothetical and irrelevant!.

I am a vegan, and I'm made happy by far more interesting things than other people's food!. If you want to live entirely on chicken, go ahead!.

**Goodness dr_sebby, did you send an abusive email to everyone who answered your question!? Or just to me!?

And for the record - I do KNOW what you're attempting to do here, I just find it unworthy of serious considerationWww@FoodAQ@Com

"If i want to make vegans happy!.!.!.!.!." !?!?!!?

Why would either make vegans "happy"!? Why would you think either option would make a vegan happy!? Why do you care if I am happy!? Why do you not have anything better to do with your life!?

If you really want to 'make vegans happy' as you insinuate in your question then send every single one of us a nice gift, a bunch of flowers, a nice car, a new house, the moon on a stick something like that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you do have a point !!!! but no cow for me thank you!.!.!.and it would be better to not eat either one!.!.(just kidding)

(omgahh reading these answers !! these people need to eat some cheese or something !! somebody's grumpy up their!.!.!.lol!.!.!.why am I in this section !? this place scares me almost as much as the religious section)

SEE YA !!!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

it would be better to not eat either oneWww@FoodAQ@Com

It seems to me that making vegans happy is the last thing on your mind!.
I'm guessing that you want us to answer one or the other so you can then accuse us of being hypocrites who value chickens more than cows or vice versa, or some other nonsense!.

And what is so wrong with being an 'emotional thinker'!.!.!.I'd rather be one than a robot!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Nothing will make vegans happy except to totally ban eating any meat!. But if a question totally annoyed me here I would just skip over it, not rise to the bait and try to argue about it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should aspire to be an emotional thinker, troll!.

It would be better to not eat either one!. They have fake meats you can eat!. Not that you should, but killing one animal is better than killing 200!.

Thanks for the link Mike!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"No vegan can answer this question!.!.!."

What a silly trollish question!. You put it in the vegan/vegetarian section but addressed it to non-vegans only!.

Vegans don't care about you!. What you do is inconsequential to their happiness, except they'd just as soon you not clutter up their board by posting troll questions on it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cows are more destructive to the environment, and are worse for your health!.

If people don't want stupid answers, they should post intelligent questions!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"It would be better to not eat either one!."

!.!.!.Sorry, but I had to put that in since it's the only simple honest answer to your typical stupid question!.

!.!.!.And PLEASE!.!.!. don't waste your time trying to send me one of your trademark nasty emails, because my account is set to not allow emails!. Poor you! If you want to say something nasty to me, you'll have to say it out in the open, so I can report you for it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I dont base my happiness on what you decide to eat!. I could give two ***** less!.

Stop wasting my time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a pragmatist so totally understand what you're saying – which is the lesser or greater evil in the veggies eyes!. Though to state the obvious you'll never make them happy eating any meat!. I've asked them the same question with zero response!. You could go along the spiritual path and decide which is the greater animal – cows are revered by many to be sacred whereas not heard of chickens being idolised! Pigs can be dodgy as similarity in dna to us (pig heart transplants et al)!. Funny enough few seem to care about sheep; the sweet little lambs yes but not the older mutton, so that could be safer!. Or an alternative way to decide would be to consider the gestation period of each animal, how many are born to each individual, how long they live!.!.!. chickens are quite a quick turnaround so a short life terminated and rapidly replaced, whereas a cow can live for many years and takes some months to replace, so you could make your own 'worthwhile' life comparison!. A straightforward way is which meat lasts best and longest in the freezer!.!.!. Don't rely on a vegan to tell you, they'll just tut, shake their heads and go no, no, no!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Eat both!.!.!.!.its good for you, I prefer pork thoughWww@FoodAQ@Com
