Animal stem cells, lab meat. Would you vegetarians eat it then?!

Question: Animal stem cells, lab meat!. Would you vegetarians eat it then!?
Snippet from yahoo news:

"In-vitro meat production would use animal stem cells that would be placed in a medium to grow and reproduce!. The result would mimic flesh and could be cooked and eaten," People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) said in a statement!.

It is animal friendly, but still meat!. Would you have a dilemna then!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I wouldn't eat it but I'd endorse it for those who persist in eating flesh!. It could eventually end the senseless killing of animals!.
I will leave you some links!. I asked this question about a year ago!.

NO, Dilemma!.!.!.
I believe the human body is made by our Creator to THRIVE on a Plant Based Diet, lab grown animal flesh does not change my mind!.
Great question it should get some interesting dialog going here!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's a good question!.

It would be a simple choice for me!. I'd eat it!. The only reason I'm vegetarian is to prevent animal suffering, and lab meat removes animal cruelty from the equation!.

Lab meat has the potential to end the suffering of billions of animals!. also, so much pollution results from raising livestock and this could be dramatically reduced with in vitro meat!. I hope vegetarians will get over their initial revulsion and support this exciting development!Www@FoodAQ@Com

gross !.!.!.!. not naturalWww@FoodAQ@Com

No!. You have missed the point entirely!. Most of us won't even support GMO vegetables which are spliced with beef, fish and even human genes!.
Though it is a huge reason for many of us to be vegetarians, there are so many other reasons to be vegetarian which have nothing to do with cruelty to animals, among which human health plays a gigantic role, and also the planet's health!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree with Orange!. If you don't eat meat from an ethical standpoint this is a HUGE step in the right direction if they can succeed!.

People complaining about GMO and yadda-yadda are just spouting opinion!. GMO is just the next step after breeding hybrids which we've been doing for decades upon decades!.

Until there is some actual health issue regarding the GMOs, skepticism is simply opinion!. The same goes for the meat project!. The problem with GMOs isn't the fact that it's genetically modified, it's why!. Crops of genetically modified produce were created to withstand chemical pesticides!. Those same crops would still thrive using organic pesticides!.

Lab grown meat is a win-win situation!. If you're a veger and you're against lab grown meat I'd have to question your agenda!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do not understand could you re-word this please!?
thanks alotWww@FoodAQ@Com

To be honest I don't know!. At first my stomach churned at the idea of lab-grown meat!.!.!.it just doesn't seem natural!. But without full knowledge of the process, the benefits and disadvantages of eating it, I can't say for sure!.

Don't most stem cells come from foetuses, so how are they going to get them in the first place!? Can they do this without causing pain & suffering!?

I would also need to know about the environmental impact this would have, the economics of it and many other factors before I could decide!. But, having said that, I think I'm pretty healthy without meat, so why would I introduce it back into my body!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would'nt eat it, but my husband is an omni and I'd buy it for him!. Everyones happy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would not eat it personally!. I have serious issues with eating meat or anything else manufactered in a lab!. There is nothing natural about that!.

I think omni's should consider it ONLY after they know it doesn't cause health issues!. After all, it is all about the profit they can make; not the health or safety of their consumers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think it's a step in the right direction for people who won't become vegetarian but as long as there is no suffering involved in its initial creation!. I don't think I'd personally eat it!. It's still kind of a gross thought!. I don't even eat soy 'meat' because it freaks me out a bit - that chewy, sinewy texture!.

I'm fine and healthy without meat or pretend meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
