What is your opinion on TOFU?!


Question: What is your opinion on TOFU!?
Have you tried it!? Do you like it!? How often do you eat it!?!

I think it tastes nice!. I had a smoked tofu sandwiche today and it looked like chicken! So it put me off it a little!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like it, mixing it with Thai food, or for breakfast, since I dont eat eggs, instead I will use Tofu, put a big of curry on it and other spices, and eat it with hashbrowns and wala I have my american style breakfast!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's alright in moderation, but it depends on what you do with it really!. I like it, but i don't eat it often at all!. I prefer it in stir-frys really!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Tofu is just fine!. But I don't rely on it!. I'm very fond of seitan and tempeh!. Or simple nuts!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I love tofu!. Well I don't love the tofu itself, but I love it as a great medium for cooking!. It can taste however you want it to taste which is a great thing!.

It's so versatile!. You can use tofu in any dish from stuffed tofu steaks (I'm making these tonight) to smoothies to desserts to salads, stir-fries, scrambled tofu, tofu bacon, etc!.

I eat tofu probably in about 2 dishes per week!. My favorite tofu dishes are Curried baked tofu, scrambled tofu, tofu "egg" salad, fried tofu sandwiches, barbecue tofu, etc!.

Wish me luck on my shiitake-stuffed tofu steaks with hoisin glaze!!

Edit: I use to be very scared of making it because it always turned out bad, but now I really know how to work with it!. It takes time to get the hang of cooking but it's worth it in the end!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

We have it once in a while!.!.!.about every ten days!. Although it adapts quite well to different tastes and absorbs spices nicely, more often can be a bit boring!.
We use soy milk on an everyday basis, but apart from that we eat mostly vegetables, rice, pasta, fruit, salads, sprouts and home made seitan which we love a lot!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

we eat it every day almost that or potatoes!.
tofu can be fried in flour or cornmeal
you can crumble it and use it like cottage cheese in lazagna baked boiled with salt or with seasonings
fried with onions and seasoning salt for a breakfest feast 10000000+ ways to use it it comes from the soy bean and is the protien portion it is more refined than soy beans but wonderful alternative for cooking with!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I love tofu!. In here, we get them so easily, silken, soft, firm, as dessert and so on!. I eat them almost daily!. It is real common in Asia!.

There are so many ways that you can cook tofu, deep-fried, stir-fried, braised, steamed, in soup, in ice cream, to replace egg in egg n mayo sandwiches, as filling,!.!.!.!.

Talking about good substitue of chicken, is King Osyter Mushroom, esp, when it is steamed!.

Tofu is great if you know how to prepare it!. Soft tofu is great for baking smoothies and desserts!.

Firm is good for stir fries and as a meat substitute!. I’m making tofu and veggie bbq skewers for dinner tomorrow!. It’s really easy!.

[1] Chop tofu into medium sized cubes, marinate over night (I’m using Thai yellow curry)!.
[2] Chop veggies medium/large pieces (I like capsicum, squash, mushroom, zucchini, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, red onions)
[3] Stick veggies & tofu on skewer
[4] BBQ for a few minutes
[5] Serve with salad, leb bread or what ever you like!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
