Do you wear leather but dont eat meat?!
as a vegetarian for 5 years, I still recieve leather gifts and i know wearing it is so hippocritical but I would rather it not go to waste (and i would feel terriably rude giving them away or guilty throwing them out)!. I always let the person know for the future!. Any vegetarians who wear or buy leather!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
I THINK YOU'RE DOING THE RIGHT THING RIGHT NOW!. YOU SHOULD WEAR IT OR GIVE IT TO SOMEONE WHO WANTS IT BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT IT TO GO TO WASTE AFTER THE COW WAS KILLED!. I DON'T WEAR IT, BUT I'M A VEGAN!. TECHNICALLY, VEGETARIANS CAN WEAR LEATHER, BUT IT REALLY ISN'T RIGHT!. JUST LET EVERYONE KNOW FOR LATER ON!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
i have been a vegetarin all my life and i dont mind wearing leather and buying it but it is kinda cruel!.
but on the other hand u can wear or buy it but not too muchWww@FoodAQ@Com

I wear leather and is vegetarian!. I ONLY do so because they don't make safety boots that meet my companies requirements in non-leather!. I wouldnt accept the gifts!. If they knew you were veg, isnt them giving you leather a kind of attack on that choice!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
A true vegetarian does not wear leather!. Like you said yourself, it's so hypocritical!. You wont eat it, but you will wear it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
i always feel bad wearing leather in the co opWww@FoodAQ@Com
no, that is completely hypocritical, never!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
No I don't!. And if I receive a gift that contains leather, fur, wool, suede, etc!. I take them back to the store for store credit or get the receipt from the giver and get full money back!. It's not rude or impolite because it goes against your personal morals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
technically vegan is the most extreme and if you were vegan than i would say it would be hypocritical but if you are just calling yourself a vegetarian it all depends on where you stand!. there are many different forms and way of life for vegetarians and yes many vegetarians despise the idea of being partially vegetarian!. I once heard someone say it is like being partially pregnant!.!.!.you are either pregnant or you are not pregnant!. Ask yourself this!.!.!."Why am I a vegetarian!?" Do you do it because you think its cool and you want to fit in with that crowd!? Do you do it for health reasons!? I see that you acknowledge cruelty in the use of leather, so if that is your stance than who cares about other vegetarians, if you believe something and go against what YOU believe than you are going against SELF not other VEGETARIANS!. This is not up to them its up to you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I don't wear leather!. My family knows not to buy me leather :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
I totally wear leather! I'm a bad vegetarian!. A lot of it is from before I became vegetarian (over 5 years ago), but shoes - most are canvas, or man made leather, but every once in a while I break down and buy leather shoes!.!.!. It's a shoe addiction!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I'm vegan!. I don't wear leather, fur, wool, suede, silk, or down!.
Most of the people in my life who are close enough to me that they would give me gifts also know that I'm an ethical vegan, so they don't gift me non-vegan items!. If I were gifted such an item, I'd thank the person and politely ask for the gift receipt so that I may exchange it for something more appropriate!.
I can understand how it might seem rude to ask for an exchange, but put yourself in the gifter's position: how would you feel about picking-out and spending money on a gift for someone that they would feel guilty using, or they they would give-away or throw-out!? Your time, effort, and money would be completely wasted!. Wouldn't you rather the person receive a gift they really like!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
