Is it true that lacto-ovo/lacto/ovo vegetarians live longer than vegans?!

Question: Is it true that lacto-ovo/lacto/ovo vegetarians live longer than vegans!?
just curious, i heard this before!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Yes it is true!. Life expectancy for the average ovo/lacto vegetarian is 2!.5 years longer than for vegans!. This is equal to the average meat eater living a comparable life style (non-smoker, regular exercise, low alcohol, salt and fat consumption)!. If you don't adjust for similar lifestyles then vegans live a few months longer than meat eaters and ovo/lacto vegetarians live nearly 3 years longer than meat eaters!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hmmm!.!.!. I've never read any evidence to support this, or the opposite for that matter!.

It doesn't really make sense that individuals who eat animal protein would live longer than vegans, seeing as animal protein consumption is linked to cardiovascular disease, diabetes and osteoperosis!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i hope not, i`m a vegan looking for a long healthy lifeWww@FoodAQ@Com

I've never heard of this!. Vegetarians and Vegans are both healthy in my view!Www@FoodAQ@Com

it's possible!. the body needs vitamin b12 to make red blood cells and prevent anemia!. this is found almost exclusively in animal products, including eggs, milk and cheese!. vegans have to get it from enriched cereals, fortified soy products and vitamin supplements!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if they used raw grass fed milk to make kefir or cheese or something, then yes!. if they use traditional puss filled milk ultra pasteurized, then probably not but who knows!? U do need some stuff that is in dairy/meat!. I was vegan for a while and got really sick, so did my gf!. Raw milk returned our health!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

im not sure but vegans/vegetarians definitely live longer than meat-eaters =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Humans are not herbivores!. You can choose to eat a diet that is different from the natural diet that humans evolved on, but the further you get from it, the more likely it is that there might be problems!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no, because eggs and dairy arent as healthy for us!. but it depends on one's diet i suppose!. a vegan who eats nothing but pringles and coke will die before a vegetarian who eats salads and healthy food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
