"Hey dad, I'm going to save you alot of money, I'm giving up unhealthy meat for a more nutritious diet of vitamin loaded veggies"!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hm, I've been vegetarian for three years!.
When I told my parents I was just kind of like "I''m not eating meat anymore so don't bother putting it on my plate!."
but you kind of sound like you can't do that!.
I'd say just ask your dad to sit down and talk, discuss why you want to become veg and talk about your 'menus'!.
He should be understanding!.
Hope I helped!. n_nWww@FoodAQ@Com

im one just say its ur choice he cant choose wat u eatWww@FoodAQ@Com

jus tell him!he ent gonna mind, more food for his fat bellyWww@FoodAQ@Com

It may relieve his worries if you tell him instead of making him wonder what is up with you! Just ask him to sit down and listen to you for a few minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

dad i dont want to eat meat anymore!.

are you limiting the amount of other food to!? if you are losing a lot of weight then maybe you need to rethink your diet, I am not saying to eat meat I am saying rethink your eating styleWww@FoodAQ@Com

just explain why you have become one!.!. ask him to pls understand and that he is not you and you have the right to choose your identity and be what you want to be!. tell him its alright to be concerned but you are you!. also tell him to pls understand and that he can come and help and advise you when he thinks there is something wrong or if you are doing something bad!. but this time, you'd rather he not!.!. cos you know what you are doing!.!. you are an adult!.!. you can think for yourself!.!. but pls dont make him feel hurt tell him in a way that makes him respect you and allow you to make your own choices!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"Hey, Dad! I have decided not to eat meat any more!." Not too difficult! Better than him thinking you have an eating disorder!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

JUST SAY DAD I HAVE DECIDED NOT TO EAT MEAT ANYMORE, HE SHOULD NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT!. WHAT WITH ALL THE CHEMICALS COMPANIES PUT IN THEM THESE DAYS!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, it's not like you've run off with !.!.!.!.!.
Say, Dad, I'm a vegetarian now!. This means that I eat!.!.!.!.
(me, i eat fish, milk, eggs, cheese)!.
Mom doesn't have to change the way she cooks, we can work something out!.
I'll get my protein from!.!.!.!. (and have answers here!)
I've been veg!. for 14 years, still v!. healthy!.
My dear aunt could never understand that as a veg!. I wouldn't eat bacon! I just gave up after a while and told her no, thank you!.
p!.s!. Orange gives a fine answer, more complete than mine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It helps to be prepared in advance!. Print out some info on vegetarian nutrition so that you'll be prepared when he asks "How will you get enough protein!?" or something like that!.

Position of the American Dietetic Association:

You could say something like "I've done a lot of research and decided that I want to become vegetarian!." Then listen to what he says and try to address his questions or concerns!. Offer to see a nutritionist, help with cooking, etc!. Make sure you speak calmly and don't attack his own diet!. You could say something like "I respect your choice to eat meat and I'd appreciate it if you could also respect my decision not to eat meat!."

Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

"Hey, Dad, can we talk for a minute!? I have something important to tell you!.!."
"Oh!.!. okay!.!. what is it!?"
"Dad!.!.!. I!.!."
"Yes!.!. (oh God!.!.) what's wrong!?"
"Dad!.!. I'm a vegetarian!.!."
"!.!.!."
"!.!.!."
"Is that all!?"Www@FoodAQ@Com

u may not belive me but i know exactly how you feel!. i have been vegetarian for a year now and dad still doesnt except it!. Simply tell him that you no longer wish to eat animals!. If he excepts it, good!. If not, thats okay too, but you have to tell him that if theres a dead animal on your plate, you wont eat it!. Dont eat it no matter what!. he'll get the picture sooner or later!. Thank you for choosing veg!.

Btw, dad may just be scared!. My dad wasnt thinking i had an eating disorder but instead thought that i was plotting to run away or commit suicide!. I was also acting diffrent!. i was used to it because i had eased into it!. i only so him every other weekend and it all came as sort of a shock!. he was afarid he was losing his little girl!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

tell him that Leading health experts agree that going vegetarian is the single-best thing we can do for ourselves and our families

Studies have shown that even older people who switch to a vegetarian or vegan diet can prevent and even reverse many chronic ailments!.

And by looking over all these points I've to become a vegetarianWww@FoodAQ@Com

what is the problem!?

" Dad I have gone off eating meat!. i dont like it!. so dont worry about me I'm not ill i'm just eating veggies from now on!. " !.

I promise I won't get all preachy on you as long as you dont try to make me eat meat aginst my will or sneak it into my food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
