Does this make any damned sense at all?!
This is an article about PETA's fake meat challenge!. I have two problems with this!. First involves the use of animal stem cells!. You would be using something from an animal even if it is to create fake meat so it still seems like some type animal cruelty or is it controversial stem cell research for humans!. Secondly, how will the PETA tastes jurors be able to tell if the fake meat trully tastes like real meat!. Are they supposed to recall so many years back to when they ate meat or what if they have eaten meat!. Will they get people who eat meat to judge!. Either way some animals are going to have to die to get it right!. I eat meat and always will!. I also respect animal rights and people choice of eating habits, however, this whole thing seems counterproductive and a waste of time!.

Kind of hypocritical of PETA to offer a $1M reward for something when it said it cannot spare a single dollar to save animals in it's shelters
How can people who do not or have never eaten meat judge how meat tastes like!?
Arrogant of them to think that just because they are PETA, they have the exclusive "moral" and "ethical" superiority and duty to to "help wean" people off meat eating!.
Didn't PETA at one time protest animal cloning!?
But with PETA, convoluted logic and circular arguments are quite common!. Nothing really surprises me about what they will come up next!.

i think its unnatural, unhealthy and pretty damn stupid!. its like someone who against abortion and for stem cell research or vice versa!. PETA seems confused!. disappointing!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I doubt that PETA is trying to provide meat for vegetarians!. They are trying to grow the meat in labs as food for omnivores so that meat-eaters will be contributing less to slaughter!.
About the taste factor!. Is that the only good reason people still eat meat!? You make it seem so!. Doesn't life hold any value or does it just serve as taste for you!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think PETA do some brilliant work, but I personally think they have lost the plot on this issue!
They seem to think that people will stop eating meat and eat lab meat instead, it certainly wouldn't be suitable for vegans/veggies because of the way it is going to be created!.
I think they will get a lot of backlash from their supporters over this!
I totally agree with you as in the fact the whole thing is counterproductive and a waste of time and Money!Www@FoodAQ@Com

PETA is an organization of hypocrite's!. What the Penn&Teller (show is called 'Bull Sh*t) episode on them!. I'm actually a vegetarian and am strongly against the actions of peta!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
i will agree with you that it certainly sounds hypocritical on peta's part!. i think they do some good work at times, but i don't necessarily agree with their ideals!.
EDIT: I am a vegetarian!.!.!.!.I just don't always agree with peta!. this whole "lab grown meat" thing has just taken things a little far!.!.!.!.!.issues with human stem cell research are controversial and they think people will accept it with animals!? you can't preach that animals and humans should have the same rights and then do something that is a human rights controversy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

youre right, somethings not rightWww@FoodAQ@Com
That is weird!. But having worked in a restaurant, I know that there are lots of people who don't mind eating meat, but would prefer that their meat was grown in a tank rather so they wouldn't be reminded by its appearance that it came from an animal!.
Many people nowadays are very uncomfortable with the fact that we eat other living things!. Most processed foods more closely resemble cardboard or plastic than the natural ingredients that our food should be made from!. When I am teaching in school, if I talk about food preparation - even cutting up and cooking vegetables - I get the exact same "ew!" reaction as if I was talking about butchering an animal!. I think we have a generation containing a lot of people who have never prepared or eaten unprocessed food on a regular basis!. This is why so many people are becoming vegetarians nowadays!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

People are vegetarians for many different reasons!.
From my standpoint, I dont agree with how animals are inhumanely kept and slaughtered for our benefit!. That is why I dont eat meat!. Humans are omnivores as many animals are!. We are just one of the many!.
If I had the time and ability to farm for myself, I would eat meat!.
Personally, I think PETA is crazy with some really whacked out ideas!. I dotn agree with much of what they do, but some respects theyre spot-on!. PETA seems to put animal welfare before human welfare!. I'm not so sure I agree with that!.!.
For example: "Therein lies the problem with PETA’s core philosophy – it exalts animal life, often in trivial ways, while simultaneously devaluing human life to the point where it’s worthless!."
But that is a quote I took from a FOX News report and I'm still unsure as to how much I believe in what FOX has to say!. Thats a whole other post, haha!. Although, concerning PETA, that seems about right!.
I'm not entirely sure I would eat the test tube meat!. I mean, its kinda scarey, dont ya think!. Anything grown in a lab for the purpose of consumption seems wrong to me!.
It just gives me the willies!.!.!.!. a yucky feeling!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Costs associated with a single animal for one year:
$365 annually for food
$130- annually for medical care
$20 Miscellaneous
$5 to end their lives
That equals $520 annually per dog!.
Thats 1,923 dogs they could rescue in one year for the $1 million they are WASTING on this marketing scam!.

WICKED SCARY! Meat from a test tube!?
I think that $$$ would be better spent on nutrition education in the schools or or funding/starting a veggie soup kitchen!.
Besides, the reactants used to synthesize any such substances are probably most efficiently isolated from natural, that is ANIMAL, sources!. (General rule of chemistry-isolation is almost always more officiant than synthesis )!.
Give me some hummus on a lentle burger and I'll be a happy camper!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can't believe some of these answers!.
Plain and simple, if successful, it would put an end to most animal suffering via the meat industry!. If you are a veger and don't support this premise because a couple of animals might get hurt along the way you are clueless of the big picture!.
PETA's involvement is simply a publicity opportunity for them because the timetable is too short and for such a creation, $1M is an insulting prize!.
EDIT: The people who are freaking out that it's made in a lab should not forget that MANY of the ingredients in foods these days were created in labs and factories!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
