As long as you eat a balanced meal you should be good without taking vitamins! I have actually heard bad stuff about taking vitamins, so that may need more researching!. I've been vegetarians for ages and I've never taken any vitamins!. I'm attaching a link that shows all the vegetarian friendly sources of iron!. When I took my son to the doctor today, she said the more you cook food in iron pots the better, so that is an easy way to get more iron!. Just be sure to have a very healthy diet, including plenty of beans, greens, grain, protein sources, etc!. See the link below for the "vegetarian food pyramid" hope it helps!!

Veggie Burgers are spectacular :)
I recommend Morningstar Farms - it's my fave!. I've heard Gardenburger and Boca burger is good too!. There is great recipes for homemade veggie burgers online that you might want to try too!

Good luck to you!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, go to the store and get a multivitamin, other than that, if you eat properly and get lots of fruits and veggies, you should be fine!. veggie burgers rock, especially morningstar portabella burgers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

hey congratz!. i always admire vegetarians, but could never be one myself!. my family LIVES on meat!. ha!.

anyways, i LOOOOOVE vegiburgers, but there are many vegetarian meals to eat!. in fact, there are even entire cookbooks just for vegeterians! heres a website about keeping a balanced diet without meat!.

and if you're serious about this, then don't give up! sometimes it will seem hard not to give in and eat that one rack of ribs or whatever, but stay strong :-DWww@FoodAQ@Com

You may need to take an iron supplement!. Vegan supplements are pretty easy to find at health food stores!.

When you eat a high-iron food (like spinach, kidney beans, lentils, or raisins) try to remember to eat something high in vitamin C at the same time: spinach salad with orange sections, lentils with tomato, raisins on a roasted sweet potato, etc!. The vitamin C helps you body use the iron better!.

If you're worried about calcium, there are calcium fortified soy milks out there!. If you're eating lots of dark green veggies, you should get enough calcium, but the soy milk is good on cereal!.

FYI: cold cereals are almost always vegan, and are always heavily fortified!. Woohoo for cheerios! (Or grapenuts, or crispex, or whatever)!.

As for veggie burgers, try different brands!. Everyone has a favorite!. I like the ones from Trader Joe's, myself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a pescatarian, not a vegetarian!.
I only eat fish and seafood,
but not the other meats!.
I eat Veggie Meats!.
You should try them!.
Get them from Whole Foods!.
They're VERY yummy!. =)
They're like hamburger patties!.
Totally Vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the only vitamin that vegans sometimes lack is B12, so if you eat eggs or cheese your good!. for recipes, try the links below!. And being veg does NOT mean getting salads and going without!. good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

idk myself but i have a friend who has been vegan for 10yrs and was vegetarian for 4 yrs b4 that so she hasnt eaten meat for 14yrs! she is extremely healthy and she doesnt take any vitamens or anything !.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You really don't need to worry about that!. If you eat right, then you should be getting the recommended amount of vitamins without any effort!. If you become vegan, thats different then!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My sister's a vegetarian - good for you!. I'm not, but I still think stuff like Quorn and Linda McCartney fake-meat food is pretty tasty, and you don't have to worry about whether the meat is good quality because there isn't any!

Weirdly enough, I have to take an iron supplement and she doesn't!. I guess it's more about how good your diet is, rather than whether you're vegetarian!. Ask your doctor for a blood count if you're worried!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you wouldn't necessarily have to get an iron supplement!. a lot of the good brands (like boca and morningstar farms) have just as much and sometimes even more iron in their "meat" as actual meat!. also, if you eat multi-grain cheerios, you can get all of your daily value of iron in one cup!! yay!! and lots of other foods have iron too, but if you're concerned, it may be beneficial to get a supplement!. it can't hurt since any extra iron would be flushed out of your system!.

and yes, i think vegeburgers are AMAZING!! but you have to find a good brand (gardenburgers), but those don't have any protein or iron because they're just vegetables and no soy anything!. but there are soy burgers that are pretty good too!. just check out any of the brands i mentioned!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just beware of vitamin overdose!. Yes, you are right to be consider on this issue!. And I think you can get good info from vegetarian/vegan society on nutritions, eg!. http://www!.nutrition!.for-vegans!.co!.uk/

If vegetarian eat wisely, with plenty variety of vegetables, fruits, should not worry too much on this!.

A note on vitamins, we vegetarian may sometimes miss out Vit B12 and Vit D, calcium, iron, zinc!. Those who do not eat eggs, dairy and wholegrains, may need supplements!. Vegans who avoid animal products may benefits from a multivitamin!.

Vegeburgers, I don't know, what i have here might been different from yours!.

Cheers :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com
