"These non-animal tests are not only humane, but in many cases less expensive than their animal-based counterparts!. Eytex costs less than $100 and gives results in eight hours, whereas the Draize test utilizing animals costs up to $1,000 and lasts for weeks!. Corrositex determines corrosiveness in as little as three minutes and costs approximately $200; animal-based tests for corrosiveness require two to six weeks, and cost $1,200-$1,800!."

"!.!.!.humans and animals differ greatly from each other: anatomically, genetically, immunologically, physiologically and histologically, right down to the basic cellular structures!. You cannot logically or scientifically make predictions for one species with data derived from another!. Testing a cancer drug on a mouse or a surgical procedure on a dog gives results that can only be applied to mice or dogs, respectively!."

"Animal research delays medical progress and compromises human health!.!.!.Because animal research often cannot adequately predict how a human will react to a test drug, a carcinogen or a surgical procedure, these studies have little or no value!. They are expensive and time-consuming, wasting time and money that would be better used in other, more effective kinds of research!. All too often, researchers assume that the results of an animal test are applicable to humans, and then conduct additional research before it is proven that the animal tests are worthless!. Because pharmaceutical drugs are tested on animals before they go to clinical (human) trials, side effects that were not demonstrated in animals have often caused harm, and even death, in humans!. There is also the question of how many medicines that could have helped humans are disregarded because they failed to work in animals!."

"In August 2004, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) noted that only 8 percent of all drugs that pass animal tests make it to the human market!. This means that of all drugs that are found to be safe and effective in animals, a whopping 92 percent are found to be either unsafe or ineffective in humans!."

"In February 2004, researchers from the Yale School of Medicine and several British universities published a paper in the British Medical Journal titled "Where Is the Evidence That Animal Research Benefits Humans!?" The researchers systematically examined animal studies and concluded that little evidence exists to support the idea that animal experimentation has benefited humans!."
