Answers:
Agar, or agar agar is a thickening agent derived from algae!. It is available at health food stores and large supermarkets!.

You can substitute tapioca starch, soaked ground flax seeds, or corn starch if that's all you can find!.

For corn starch 1 tablespoon thickens 1 cup liquid-
* To use: Mix cornstarch with an equal amount of cold water to make a slurry!. Then whisk into hot liquid for at least 30 seconds!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most likely Super Stop and Shop doesn't sell it!. Agar is a gelatin substitute that is derived from red algae!. It can be found in some health food shops!. You can also try and check a local Asian supermarket, if you have one!.

If none of those are options to you, you could always order it online: http://store!.nexternal!.com/shared/StoreF!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Whole Foods has agar in the Asian section!. If there's an Asian foods store in your town, they should probably also have it!. I also saw it at Pangea, a vegan online retailer (www!.veganstore!.com)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The people above are right and you can find it at your local co-op, whole foods or trader joes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
