Can vegans watch movies featuring animals?!

Question: Can vegans watch movies featuring animals!?
If one was to be a strict vegan, would watching movies featuring animals be acceptable!? Because people would be using animals for money so I'm not sure!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Film itself is not vegetarian let alone vegan because it is made with a gelatin coating!. However, there is no alternative yet to gelatin film and we aren't going to live in the dark ages, so we still watch them!.

Even though animals are used in a film they are not harmed any longer!.!.!.at least in the US, Australia, and Europe!. The Humane Society watches over all filming for anything "fishy"!.

If a movie uses a wild animal such as a bear, tiger, cougar, etc!. I might feel differently because those animals are taken out of their natural habitat!. And if they did grow up in captivity, that doesn't make them "domesticated!."

There was a man who was just killed by a "talent" bear yesterday!. Although it's sad the man was killed, he risked it and I do not think the bear should be put down because he was annoyed at the trainer!.

Anyway, back to the question!.!.!.yes, vegans can watch movies featuring animals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Now this is up for debate!.

There are many dogs in show business that are loved and trained through encouragment rather than retribution, however I am sure there are others on the other side of the spectrum, and in a way you may be exploiting the animals by having them"act"!.

I am personally against animals for entertainment in the circus, bull-fighting, et cetera!.!.!. However I do watch movies with animals in it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is an organization that supposedly ensures animals used during filming are not harmed in any way, but I'm kinda leary of them!. Sometimes it's hard to know there's going to be animals in the movie, unless, of course, it's about animals!.

Still, I think it's a far cry to have an animal participate in a few scenes in a film and what goes on in circuses, rodeos, and animal racing, where the animals spend their entire lives in cages except when they perform!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!.!.!. they will blow up if they do o_O

Nah I'm just kidding!.!.!. I'm sure you caught that though lol!. Well that would depend on the individual's personal opinion on that subject, not being vegan in general!. Some vegans do, some vegans don't!.

My personal opinion!? It's ok as long as the animal was in no way harmed or mistreated in the process!. Dogs simply running around, being cuddled, laying down, etc!. in movies is ok!. Animals that were forced to do tricks by being shocked, burnt, or otherwise abused, or animals that could get hurt while "acting" is not ok!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is one of those gray areas where technically it's using animals, but it would be a little impractical to avoid it altogether, since probably most movies probably have at least one animal in them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

those animals in movies are trained and are often pets!. do vegans not have pets!? now what i do know is that a true vegan is against the circus!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think they can!. Well, I mean I do!. It isn't contributing to animal cruelty in any way (because of special effects and fake blood), so I think it is fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i think that you can as long as they dont hurt themWww@FoodAQ@Com

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes why would'nt we, well I do see what you mean but i doWww@FoodAQ@Com

No, many DVD's are made out of animal hides!. ;-)Www@FoodAQ@Com
