Should products do this?!

Question: Should products do this!?
Should food products have something on it to say if it has any animals in it!? Like gelatin!. And for meat products to say how the animal was killed!? I think we should know because if everyone knew how alot of meat was killed, so many people would become vegetarian!. Do you think they should do this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
yes!.!.

may be gross but its the cold hard truth!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Food products are already required to list their ingredients (like gelatin, rennet, albumin, etc!.), you just have to do your research and discover the wide range of ingredients that are derived from animal sources!. I DO think that food labeling - "Vegetarian", "Vegan", etc!. - should be required instead of optional!. It would be nice, anyway!. ;P

I've also long been of the opinion that there should be t!.v!. screens above every meat product ("fresh" and frozen) showing footage of the animals' living conditions, slaughter, preparation, and transportation!.!.!. AND that veggie "faux" meats be given their own section in every store instead of stocked alongside of everything else! I hate having to walk past section after section of frozen meat products just to get to the one section of frozen veggie products!

A lot of products already state at the bottom the ingredient list, usually in bold text, if the product contains allergens- including any kind of dairy, which is handy for us vegans!.
Gelatin isn't in very much, aside from things like Jell-o so I can't see that that label would get used very much!.
I am for animal rights, but I don't think people should have to be forced into going veg because of something they read on food packaging, if they even believed it!.
If someone decides that they want to abuse animals (by eating them) that's their problem!. The punishment is obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and all the other assorted goodies that come from eating flesh!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

they should but due to my religion i can't eat pork or tortured animals so I either eat from a slaughter house that conforms to the strict guidelines of my religion OR i buy products that have the vegan sign or UD<---freaking amazing, it makes my life easier!. and i avoid products that contain gelatin as it is made of pig!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

YESYESYES!!!!!!!!
that would make life so much easier for me and other veg*ns

and your right, i bet a lot of other people would become veg*ns because the product tells how the animal was killed, i mean if some little kid (who could read) read that they would most likely not want to eat it!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it would be nice for you guys, but it will never happen because most people don't care where their food comes from, as long as it's there!. industries cater to the majority, not minority!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well if slaughter houses had to publish how they cared for and killed the animal maybe they would be more humain and use Kosher methods!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some stuff comes with a vegetarian/vegan label, and it would be nice if everything was labeled this way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think they should do that!. It would be nice instead of reading label after label after label!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No I do not think that the food industry should cater to a very small minority of the market!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

and that transgenic foods should all so labeled as transgenic!
that's why we should buy directly to the producer!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would love to see something like that happen, it would make shopping so much easier!Www@FoodAQ@Com

what a great ideaWww@FoodAQ@Com
