Answers:
Gas=use beano!. I'm indian, our spices take care of the gas for us!. Dunno what americans use, but, um, beano!?!?!?

sleep: do you exercise, and when!? Don't take caf four hours before you desire to sleep, and don't exercise 2 hours before you desire to sleep!. And make sure you get physical and mental exercise during the day!.

headaches: drink enough water!? Typical is around 1!.2 liters/day, but i'd shoot for 1!.5-1!.7 personally!. If the headaches keep up for around 2 weeks after increased water intake, you may want to consult a physician/eye doctor!.

ETA: lay off the fish part people!!! Gee, judgmental, are we!? I'm lacto-veg myself, you gonna rail into me!? You don't know why this person went veg in the first place!. props for not contributing to global warming (if you lay off the tofu)!. just make sure that the fish you eat is low on the food chain (http://www!.mbayaq!.org/cr/seafoodwatch!.as!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You are a pescetarian, NOT a vegetarian!. Fish is meat, therefore pescetarianism is not considered a part of vegetarianism!.
Anyway, the gas might be due to an increase of beans you've been eating!.!.!.!? It's never happened to me though, because i get my protein from tofu mostly; I never really increased my bean intake when i converted!.
I have never heard of so much energy that it's hard to sleep at night, so I have no advice foryou there, i'm sorry!. =/
The headaches most likely mean you're low in iron, it's happened to me before!. You can get more iron in your diet by eating more lentils, tofu, leaf vegetable, molasses, or completely whole-grain breads!. You can also take iron vitamins!. Very small pills, very cheap!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not a vegetarian, but I think I can answer 1+2!. The gas could be explained by the increased amount of beans you're probably eating, and the trouble sleeping could be from the lack of tryptophan intake, which is often found in chicken and turkey!. I'm not sure about the headaches, they may be due to the shock to your system from switching over to vegetarianism!. Really, I don't know 100%, that's just what I think!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

First of all, you're not a vegetarian if you're eating fish!. It's a meat!. Second, your increased intake of vegetables would be the cause of your gas!. Third, you're probably eating more carbs than you did to replace meat products so you are giving your body more sugars than you realize!.!.!.try to cut down on your carbs and make sure you get some exercise!. Fourth, make sure that you are drinking plenty of water, lack of water can cause headaches as can some food allergies!. Start watching when you get the headaches and try to note what you have eaten that day!. With all of the new things that you have been putting into your diet, you could be allergic to one of them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

uhhh, i had a problem with anemia after becoming vegetarian!.!.!. which gave me a lot of headaches!. so maybe eat more beans and stuff, which have a lot of protein!.
ever since i became veg, i NEVER have gas (well, hardly ever), so idk what is up with that!.
and ive never been extremely entergetic, at least not from being vegetarian!!

you may want to go see a nutritionist or a doctor because the first 2 do not seem normal to me!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, I've been a vegetarian for three years and I haven't experienced any of that, but it's different for everyone I guess!. You may want to talk to a doctor about it!. Well done on becoming veg though, it's a good choice!. n_nWww@FoodAQ@Com

You might want to discuss your diet with folks more knowledgeable than a bunch of hacks like me on the internet!.

P!.S!. A vegetarian that eats fish is like being sort of pregnant!. You either eat meat or you don't!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

2!. - go for short run, or if you can not do that, do yoga, or deep breathing!.

3!. - drink water 8 tall glasses per day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Have you been losing weight!? Your symptoms sound like you're not consuming enough calories!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

fish is meatWww@FoodAQ@Com

I can answer to your first question!. Of course beans can do it if they're cooked and soaked in certain ways!. also fruit!. If you eat heavy food which takes longer to digest, such as rice, potatoes, et cetera, then eat fruit, the fruit will digest faster than the other food in your body!. The slower digesting food in your intestine will block the fruit from going through and the fruit will continue to digest by turning into gas!.

There are many other possible explanations, although I've found this one to be a big one for me!. It can make the difference between a big gas day and a no gas day!.

Another possible reason is candida overgrowth!. Lots of sugar over ones life can lead to this bacteria to overgrow in the guts and can create lots of gas!. My mom experienced a big overall relief in gas by doing the candida diet/cleanse!.

By the way, as you're probably aware, doctors likely won't help you in any of these areas in any way other than by writing you a prescription for something!. Naturopaths are much better for these sorts of things!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
