Answers:
I have just about the same body type as you, and I became a veg!. about 4 mos ago, and I've only lost weight because I've made a drastic life style change!.

I completely cut out sodas, and any juice that has added sugar or isn't 100% juice!.

I pretty much stopped eating candy and cookies!.

I do eat dairy and eggs!.!.!.only cage free eggs, and no yolks!.!.!.the yolk is full of cholesterol and fat!. The white is pure protein!.

You may be upping your carb intake to feel fuller w/o the meat!. Make sure you eat 100% whole wheat grain products, that should be the 1st ingredient in your bread, pasta, cereal, etc!.

Eats LOTS of dark green veggies and a variety of other veggies and fruits!.

I am only a couple pounds less than you, so your BMI is technically very healthy!. You probably just want to some toning exercises to firm up!. That's what I'm workin on!.

Drink lots of water, eat enough fiber, and avoid salty foods that will make you retain water, and therefore looking and being heavier!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

eat more raw foods, veggie trays, salads, fresh fruit, or tofu and cooked veggies!. These foods are lower in calories, and very healthy for vegetarian items!. Just because you are not eating meat doesn't mean you will lose weight, it may actually be even harder on a vegetarian diet!. You are really going to have to focus on food quality and type!. You need proteins and don't skyrocket on crummy processed carbs or disaster will follow, Eggs, avacados, beans, veggie meats, and defiantly fill up on raw veggie trays with a tasty dip!. try to keep carbs and fat around 50/50, or 2 grams of carbs to every 1 gram of fat and get some good protein in too, protein is important, read about it online!.
also, I you want to MAKE SURE you have a great and beautiful body, EXERCISE should always be at the top of the menu!. You're young and should be focusing on sports and activities like hiking or dancing!. Nothing replaces exercise!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

your weight fluctuates 2-5 pounds a day, so I wouldn't flip out over 3 pounds!.!.!. there are a lot of factors that go into it, what you ate that day, how much you ate, if you pooped, if you exercised at all!.!.!.

being a veg for a week is not gonna make you drop 10 pounds all the sudden!.

I've been veg for about 5 years and I'm relatively the same wight I was 5 years ago!.

Youre a young child, I wouldn't be dieting, youre still growing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

First of all, if you're 5'3" and 116 you don't need to worry about losing weight, especially since you're still growing!. You may still have a growth spurt or two that slim you out even more (but even if you don't, you're FINE)!.

Just because you're eating vegetarian doesn't mean you're eating healthy!. A good friend of mine was veg!. for years and gained weight during the entire time!.

Since you're still growing, you want to make sure you're eating a balanced diet!. Beans, lentils, soy/tofu are all good sources of protein!. As others have mentioned, you have to make sure that you're not just loading up on carbs and sugars!.

Since there are certain vitamins that you won't be getting, make sure you're taking a good multivitamin too!.

There are plenty of great veg!. cookbooks and recipes out there (just do a Google search) that can help you get started eating better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you have to cut out all potatoes, rice , and noodles!., no icecream, no chocolate, no cakes, and very little bread!. try to take megavitamins also!. no cereal in the mornings!.!.!.!.!.i drink spirutein in the mornings for breakfast!. it has the same amount protien as carbohydrates!. sherpas eat a 6 to 1 protien to carbohydrates ratio, because the thin air makes there body use up more energy!.!.!.!.!. protien makes muscle and carbhydrates are for energy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i dont think you should have to worry about ur weight at that age im also a vegetarian and it hasnt really changed my weight at all!. Just make sure your eating the right foods and it dosent matter wat you look like as long as ur healthy!. alot of skinny people are really unhealthy and alot of big peole are healthy so it dosent matter how you look just make sure your eating the right things =DWww@FoodAQ@Com

Either you had a growth spurt or you are eating crap for food!. (ex!. pizza, pasta, & bread)!. You need to eat balanced meals, and vitamins if you're a serious vegitarian or you could possibly screw up you body!. Even at the young age of 13, (my age)!. You're still growing and eating healthy is important, so make sure you get your proper protein, calcium, iron, and vitamins!. And make sure you don't over eat on junk food just because you have cravings!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

either your not eating enough, and your body is overcompensating by hangng on to everything you DO eat

or you're eating too much of one of the following

Breads/pastas
fake meat
eggs
junk food

Many newbie veggies replace the meat in their diet with junk food!.!. have to be careful!!

BTW!.!. 5'3 and 116 IS skinny!.!. You're fine!.!. be careful about obsessing with yoru weight!.!. Eating disorders are not fun, they're hell!.!. I know!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if your thirteen, yousouldnt be dieting, its not healthy at all!.
your body is still adjusting and dieting is very harmfull!.
im fourteen and i did that and i ended up in a hospital bed becuase with out the right nutrients, my body didnt grow and i became very stressed and now i have olsers!.
DONT DIET,Www@FoodAQ@Com

Being a vegetarian isn't necessarily a healthy lifestyle!. Our bodies are 90% protein so it makes sense that we would have to eat a lot of protein!.

However, I agree - three pounds isn't a big deal!. For goodness' sake, you could be growing! People your age do that, you know!Www@FoodAQ@Com

you shouldent be dieting @ your age!
im 16 & i weigh 100 lbs!.
its not good for you to make such a drastic change while you are so young!
ive been a veg!. for about 4-5 months now but i have only lost weight because of the changeWww@FoodAQ@Com

Just because you're a vegetarian doesn't mean that you're going to loose weight!. Carbs are hard to burn you know!?!? :[Www@FoodAQ@Com
