How can you quickly tell if a product has meat in it?!

Question: How can you quickly tell if a product has meat in it!?
I'm a vegetarian, and I find it very frustrating to buy a product and then bring it home just to find out that it has meat in it!. In the grocery store I don't like to read the food labels because everyone will glare at me( probably because they think I'm one of those crazy people that cares about their weight soo much)!. Is there any symbol that will show if a product (like yogurt, where most people don't expect to find meat) will or won't have meat!.

Thanx!
Go vegetarians!! :DWww@FoodAQ@Com

Who cares what people think! They're strangers in a grocery store!. You'd rather spend money on something you can't eat because you took it home before finding out it had something in it you didn't like/were allergic to etc!?
It's your body and your health!. So what if some people have that going through their minds!? Would you really be potentially hanging out with people who didn't respect your personal health /eating choices anyway!? What about the people who actually think 'hey, there's someone who respects/cares what is on the shelf and /or going in their body'
I read labels all the time -not for calorie counting, to see what's on the ingredient list, for the odd thing I do buy that's processed!. I'm concerned about what I put in my mouth, not what other people in the grocery store think about that!.
But hey, if you want to feel that way, go for it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i'm assuming that this question is coming from a past experience of buying something that you were unaware had meat in it!. i'm just curious here!. what was it!? i can't think of something that would have meat in it that you wouldn't know about by simply looking at the product/packaging!. or are you talking about animal by-products like gelatin!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

its best if you read the label just to make sure you dont miss anything, but if you dont care about eggs then look for either a "k" or a "u" in a circle, or the word "parve" or 'parvae' (if it has a "D" or the word "dairy" next to it then it has dairy products in it) also look under the ingredients where it sometimes lists common allergies, and it should say if it contains fish, eggs or dairyWww@FoodAQ@Com
