I'm so confused?!

Question: I'm so confused!?
I'm kind of becoming a vegetarian I hate feeling that I'm a murderer every time I sit down to eat dinner!. I love and care about animals and it hurts because none of my friends or my family supports my decision!.

I don't know if this is a joke or not but I've been seeing online that there's been research that proves plants can feel pain and have feelings!. Do they!?

Please help me I'm so confused!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No, plants can't feel pain!. They don't have a central nervous system to process pain!. They don't have the capability of escaping "predation!." The people trying to tell you that are looking for a justification for continuing to eat meat!.

And even if plants could feel pain--and we're getting into fantasyland here--by eating meat, you cause the deaths of far more plants than you would by going vegetarian!. Think about it: Those animals people eat have to eat something, right!? They eat PLANTS!. And it takes between 5 and 15 pounds of plant food to produce a pound of animal food!.

Anyone who can't tell the difference between a carrot and a cow needs to go back to middle school for a few preliminary biology courses!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Only a vegetarian would say that plants cannot feel pain!.

Why I had a rutabega jump out of my garden and roll around trying to escape what I was going to do to him in the blender!.

I had a carrot almost poke my eye out when I pulled him up by the roots!.

Celery stalks can get downright nasty when harvested, and don't EVEN get me started about BEETS!

I feel that if you should INDEED have to harvest vegetables that you should in fact have the largest caliber of firearm available so that you can in fact provide them with a swift and humane death when the time comes!.

Wouldn't wanna be cruel to your carrots you know!? Because next you might see a video labeled "Meet your Beets!"

**All jokes aside, quit worrying about harming vegetables!. A human cannot make it through life without harming "something", but veggies should be on the bottom of your list right next to algae!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Plants don't have brains, central nervous systems, or nerve endings, so it's pretty safe to say that they're not capable of feeling pain!.

also:
Plants have to be fed to livestock, and meat production is very inefficient!. Only a small portion of the vegetation that is eaten by farmed animals is converted into meat for us to eat!. So, by eating meat, not only do we cause animal death and suffering, we also end up killing many more plants than we would if we ate a vegetarian diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Are you kidding!!! Plants cannot feel pain!. They do not have nerves!. Plants have mechanisms to protect themselves such as turning to face the sun or closing up at night or shrinking their cells to protect their water supply!.

I don't eat meat either, and I've learned to simply pass it up when eating with others and skip the small talk about animal cruelty!. Eating should be an enjoyable experience, and it can't be if everyone is harassing you about your choices!. Just be unobtrusive about them, and do the right thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Honestly, I do not think that plants have feelings!. To me that is just crazy, but hey who knows!?
But I am a vegetarian too and my family and friends didn't support my decision either!. You are not the only one! My family and friends have just sort of grown out of it and accepted it after a while!. And I'm sure this happens with a lot of people also!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was really lucky when I became vegetarian!. My Mum was really supportive and has helped me a lot!. My friends and family weren't as understanding, and it took ages for them to accept!. My friends still wave ham in front of my face!.

Don't worry too much about what others say!. Just remain healthy and they will come around!. Have fun learning some really delicious recipes and maybe some others will want you to teach them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Any studies that said that were bogus!. Animals feel pain through their central nervous system!. Plants don't have a central nervous system and therefore don't feel pain!. Becoming a vegetarian will stop most of the pain that you would be causing animals by being an omnivore!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no!
