I need to eat more healthy greens, food suggestions please!?!

Question: I need to eat more healthy greens, food suggestions please!!?
Hey, so I don't really eat any vegetables that much, it's really just like snacks at parties and things!. This is mainly because I really just don't like the taste of them, or the work it takes to make them taste good!. I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions for some quick and easy to make snacks, or even meals, that include a lot of healthy veggies!. And if you could, which vegetables are best for you and why!? If you could give me some recipes that I could take to work that'd be great too! Thanks in advance yal'!Www@FoodAQ@Com

this might be sort of out there, but i use this product i get from whole foods called "perfect food super green plus" and it's a green powder full of all the greens you need for the day!. you just add a scoop to juice and gulp it down and you're good to go!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Lot's of my friends have the same problem; They want to eat healthier but they hate the taste of greens!

There's a salad that's really easy to freelance!.

Just mix some vinegar and oil and sugar and any spices that taste nice to you, and shake it up to make the dressing!. Then take green beans [fresh is best, but canned is okay, too!.] Mix the green beans with some kale or dry leaf spinach, and put the dressing on!.

It's so ridiculously simple, and it tastes amazing!. Plus, the kale and/or spinach and green beans are really good sources of iron, and are just all around a good choice!.

Much better than eating a normal salad, as iceburg lettuce is all water, anyway!.

Green veggies are super easy to sneak into any already-good tasting food, such as seaweed in miso soup, or even green beans or kale in a casserole!.

Hope this helped!Www@FoodAQ@Com

The best veggies for you are the dark, green, leafy ones like spinach, kale, swiss chard, and "greens" like collard, turnip and mustard!. They are best eaten raw because cooking them sucks the nutrition right out of them!

My favorites are spinach, kale and collards!. Some of the others are a bit on the strong side!.

One of the best ways to eat more greens is to put them in a smoothie!. I know it sounds weird, but it tastes great!.

Green Smoothie

1 whole orange, peeled
1 banana, peeled
1 cup frozen blueberries
2 big handsful of baby spinach
water as necessary

Whizz all ingredients in a blender and enjoy, MmmmmmMM!

also try making wrap sandwiches with collard leaves instead of tortillas!. Very tasty!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you don't like greens, you can make a veggie shake, adding celery or carrot into milkshake or smoothies!.

How about Chinese Stir-fry Greens, you will have other sauce to mask some of the taste of greens!. And cooked greens taste different!.

No one kind of veggies serves all purposes, you need to have a different variety, I guess to get all the required minerals etc!.

Most of them are simple and hassle-free, if you can't find the ingredients you can substitue or improvise!.

Eats celery
Celery has 0 calories and when you chew you burn which means negative calories!

also if you can't eat veggies like me or have a hard time, simply make an all natural juice!.

I mean ALL natural!. Today I wanted carrots but I can't chew them for a few reasons so I made a juice with some machine and didn't add anything to it!. I get the same as if I ate it normally, minus the few calories from chewing!.

- Celery
- Lettuce
- Carrots (Not more than 2 1/2 cups)
- Broccoli
- Spinach (Yum with chicken)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Graze on your front lawn!.

Grass isn't a vegetable, per se, but it's very gourmet, especially zoysia!.

I'd hose it down first, you know, to wash off all the assorted animal, bird, rodent, reptile or insect excrement that may have accumulated!. That stuff does NOT taste good!. also, it isn't healthy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hm, this is just short and sweet, but here goes!.
I always hated asparagus, right!? It makes your pee smell and has a really weird texture!. But I find that if you take boiled or steamed asparagus (not straight from a can, and still somewhat firm but wiggly) then if you cut it in half, the lighter colored fibers on the inside are really tasty and fun to play with!. :PWww@FoodAQ@Com

Take out from a resteraunt>> Chinese: the best is beef and broccoli
There are a lot of take out meals you can get that are easy, but make sure they arent cooked in fat (<< un healthy)

or celery with peanut butter is good

or broccoli/ cauliflower with cheese whiz

fresh uncooked peapods

frozen peas are sooooo good when they are still frozenWww@FoodAQ@Com

you can have like carrots and celery and raw broccoli w/ ranch or you can make a stew w/ like carrots potatoes and stuff or steamed veggies oh and the darker the better which means darker veggies are better for u and tomatoes aren't veggies if u didn't no that :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

the perfect way to eat tons of veggies is a SUB!.
all you need is buns, meats, lettuce, tomato, pickles, peppers, anything you like!

throw it all together and top it all off with some mayo, mustard, or sub sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

salads are awesome!. i love a good salad!. unfortunately, by the time i'm done loading it up with lunch meat, cheese, bacon, and dressing they usually aren't very healthy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Stir fried spinach smothered in veggie peanut sauce is usually good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The best vegetables to eat are those that are in season!. Vegetables that are in season right now (spring):

Asparagus
Carrots
Collards
Mustard Greens
Spinach
Spring Mix (baby lettuce)

To prepare asparagus, you want to drop it in boiling water for about 3 minutes!.
Then remove the asparagus and put it in an ice water bath (that's just ice and water in a bowl) to stop the cooking so the asparagus is still crisp!.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F!.
Wrap about three asparagus stalks in a half a slice of bacon!. Wrap the remaining asparagus!.
Top the bundle about 1/2 tsp of brown sugar!. Bake for about 10 minutes!. Not only is it good for you that you're eating asparagus, but you also get to eat bacon and brown sugar!. YUM!

Some other things that are in coming into season are squash, zucchini, and eggplant!. One of my favorite recipes for these three vegetables is to cut each into about 2 inch cubes (or rounds) and roast them!.
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F!.
Cut 2 squash, 2 zucchini, and 1 eggplant into small consistent cubes or rounds, and toss them in a little bit of olive oil!.
Crush and dice one clove of garlic!.
On the bottom of a roasting pan (should be a little deep), pour one 14 oz can of diced tomatoes!.
Spread the vegetables and garlic over the diced tomatoes and roast in the oven for about 40 minutes!.
Stop halfway to mix up the vegetables a little so that they don't stick to the roasting pan!.

This roasted vegetable dish is great for leftovers!. Tomatoes are good for you because they contain lycopene, a powerful antioxidant!. Eggplant, zucchini, and squash contain a lot of fiber which help you stay full longer!.

You can toss spinach in warm orzo (a small pasta) and top it with feta cheese for a nice side dish which is good hot or cold!.

You can carry a big box of spring mix (baby lettuce) to work and keep it in the fridge (at work) for a salad!. Just make sure you take some protein to top your salad so you stay full!. Good protein options are grilled chicken, grilled fish, or even chickpeas (garbanzo beans!.) Add a slice of crusty bread and you'll have a meal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
