What are staples of the raw food diet?!

Question: What are staples of the raw food diet!?
I've been doing tons of research for about a year now on the raw food movement!. I've tried going raw before, but no success!. I want to try a different approach, one that very few raw food eaters try!. I'm going to start off just eating individual fruits, veggies, and nuts to get my palette used to those foods!. besides eating what i really enjoy, what are the living foods i need to eat in order to get my required daily nutrition!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Look up Douglas Graham and his 80/10/10 approach!. Unlike the mainstream raw movement which seems obsessed with hooking people on cacao, weeds, "superfoods", and exotic marine life they'd have no access to (or interest in) if in the wild, he offers a commonsense, science-backed approach to success and health on a raw diet!. While I admire the passion people like David Wolfe display, they have shown themselves to be salesmen and nothing more!.

In Graham's program, the main staple and source of calories is sweet fruit, complemented by a moderate serving of greens!. I've been eating this way since December and have felt great!. As an athlete, I am recovering much faster than I used to which means I can work out more often!. I have shed excess fat, put on more lean mass, and my skin is clearer than ever!.

While I recommend his book, you don't have to buy it to get a basic understanding of the principles of it!. Check out his website and message board (linked below) and you can glean a pretty solid understanding!. You can also look him up on Google Video!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds will satisfy your nutritional requirements nicely!. (I do take an occasional B-12!.)
An easy thing to do is to make sure you eat a wide range of colors: orange, green, red, yellow, purple!.!.!.!.

I don't follow a "living foods" diet, just raw!. (I'm not that fond of sprouts!.) And I don't concern myself with analyzing my daily food intake to ascertain that I've consumed the requisite amount of riboflavin!.

Did you ever notice that no one is ever concerned with getting all the vitamins and minerals while they're stuffing their faces with Big Macs and Cheetos!? Most Americans are deficient in vitamins and minerals!.

The best advice I could give you is to always have something high-fat on hand!. Never go out without a bag of raw almonds, cashews, macadamias, etc!. If you get a craving for something, eat an avocado!. It works every time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
