Weightlifting while vegetarian, it's not possible. Question to Veggie Men.?!
Every since I became vegetarian, it's hard to lift weights!. Even though my cardiovascular improved for running, lifting weights is a big burden now!.
I take GNC Soy Protein supplements, eat alot of nuts, seeds, beans with my rice!.
Right now I'm testing out Pescetarian(Fish eater)!. If this doesn't work, I'm goign to have to get back to eatin Beef, Chicken, and Pork!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know you are addressing veggie men, but I am a vegan and I weight train 3-4 days/week!. I am serious about what I do and trust me - I'm not one of those "I want to tone" type girls who uses 5lb freeweights!. I'm in this for the real deal!.
I've done serious weight training as a meat eater (about 8-9 years ago) and now as a vegan and I don't see a difference!. The muscles develop just as quickly - they are quality results too!.
When you say that "it's hard to lift weights" does that mean it's hard from the start of your workout or that you fatigue easily!? What are you eating!? Is it difficult to lift with your arms, legs, or all over!? How long and often are you training!? Do you participate in other forms of exercise!? Sorry for all the questions, but it's hard for me to answer without those details!.
I do drink a soy protein shake to help repair my muscles after a hard workout - but I don't drink it on a regular basis!. It's hit and miss, actually!. I'll go a few weeks w/o so much as looking at it and then the next week I might make myself two shakes!. I know it's random, but it works for me!. :-)
I guess I would suggest that you eat a well-balanced diet!. Try not to concnetrate so much on consuming tons of protein - make sure you also have fibre in your diet!. If you are a vegetarian (and not vegan), then try not to fall into the dairy trap!. Yeah, it's a source of protein, but dairy can be highly fattening - especially cheese and milk!. Fruit yogurt is super sugary!.!.!.go for plain and add your own fresh fruit (not canned)!.
Hm!. I think I'm rambling!. I hope something in the aforementioned paragraphs helped!. Cheers!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You'll see that it's more than possible to be a vegetarian and a weightlifter!.
Almost all the people who use the sit are vegan (some are vegetarian) and there are specific forums for many sports, including power and strength - look at the SIZE of some of those men!
There is plenty of diet advice and I've seen questions and answers on there about shakes!.
Going back to eating meat is, of course, your choice; but if you'd prefer to remain vegetarian AND keep lifting weights, have a look at those forumsWww@FoodAQ@Com

So, what's your question!?
All of the amino acids (protein) in meat are available in non-meat forms so a vegetarian diet is not to blame!. Perhaps you haven't properly accounted for ALL of the proteins you need!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It really is a myth that you need meat to be successful with body building and other athletics!. You do need to take the time to research on nutrition - a great deal of time researching that side actually!.!.!. but it can be done, and it is well worth the effort!.
I do cardio and strength training, and have been vegetarian for 5 years - I actually do better now as a vegetarian than I ever did as a meat eater - and am starting to phase down my dairy products, going a little more vegan with that route!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
