i have no idea how meat, dairy!.!.!. got to be betters in comparision!.

meat only really has protein, niancin and vitamin b-12!.!.!.!. oh and it has iron!.!. it's suppose to be an iron giant!.!. but it's not!.!. spinach has more iron and protein in it!.

dairy!? forget it!.!.!. nasty, you eat dairy you're going to have complications over all!.!.!.

vegetarians do not eat diary, meat anything like that!.!. i'm not sure how vegetarians got mixed up with those other faint comparisions to vegetarianism such as ovo-lacto and other!.

you're not going to save any animals!.!.!. the production of meat is old school!.!.!. more meat is produced than eaten in the united states alone!.

what isn't used is processed heavily and converted into a derivative that is used in most foods such as candies, canned foods!.!. frozen foods, snacks, sodas!.!.!. anything that needs additives to keep it in storage and make it usable!.

also, watch out! alot of companies claim to make vegetarian / vegan foods!.!.!. (processed!.!.!.) as fake meat!.!.!. among other things and if you read that fine print in the ingredient section!.!.!. you'll find products, chemicals, additives that are processed from animal product and biproduct!.

it's not that easy!.!.!. it's very complex!.

even mass produced veggies, fruits!.!.!. tubers!.!. roots!.!. molds!.!.!.!. so on!.!. grains!.!. are manifested using animal products!. (more than just waste from the animal converted into fertilizers!.!.!. there's also animal fats, proteins, parts of animal where the enzyme is used as fertilizer!.!. so on)

do use your education wisely and do use caution!.

grow your own garden if you can!.!.!. that's the purest you can do!.!.!.

OH, watch out for companies that claim they use and sell organics!.!. many have been persued and discovered that most of their organic items are regular items just the packaging has been changed!.

it's really that difficult and tedious!.

no, i'm not trying to ward you from becoming a vegetarian!.!. just education, education, research and knowledge is power!.

read labels!.!. use caution and google!.com anything you find that you have a question about!.!.!. then read up on the evidence you find!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a vegan because I love animals and I have not had an health problems, in fact I am healthier now than I have ever been!. Not only can you save LOTS and LOTS of animals every year, but you can save even more by not wear animal by products such as leather (I wear faux leather and it looks identical) and you can also stop using products that are tested on animals and also by no longer supporting charities that test on animals!. Go to the PETA website and they will send you lots of information for free, they helped me out a lot when I first got started!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Give it a serious try!. If you don't like it, you can give it up!.
I was a veggie for 7 yrs!. but gave it up due to money!. I didn't have a say in what foods were purchased at that time!.

My blood pressure and cholesterol levels were raised during the time I ate meat (I didn't eat bacon, skin, greasy stuff either)!.

If you do enough research on nutrition, you'll probably be inspired to go veggie!. I've recently gone vegan and am so glad I have! E-mail me with any questions you have about meal plans and stuff!.

Make sure you get omega 3s!. Nutrition stores sell powdered vitamins that you can add to your drinks!. They're completely vegan and gluten-free!. They have an entire day's worth of calcium (and most vitamins and minerals) in one tablespoon!. Go easy on the soy and processed stuff! Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can if you want to, whatever your motives are!. But you need to educate yourself on what nutrition your body needs, and how to get that from non-animal sources!. Otherwise, you'll just make yourself sick, or at least very weak!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm wondering where they got that "100 animals a year" number!. If we were talking beef cattle, it would be less than one a year, no matter how much beef a person ate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Comer verduras, frutas e legumes faz bem a saúde!.

Vany (Brazil)Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should do it, its not that hard unless you go vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

go for it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is a healthy choice!. I would suggest really doing study on it to make sure that you are getting everything that you need nutrition wise in your diet!. Better yet - if you can - go to a dietitian/nutritionist and have them help you to learn more about it and help you set up a diet that meets your personal needs with the foods that you like!.

Best thing to do - in my opinion of course - to help animals - is to help in your own area!. Donate your time - and money if you have it - to the programs that are addressing problems in your area!. Be it animal shelters - or giving time and home to help house animals while they are waiting for homes - all are things that are really needed!. So is donation of food to feed the animals!.

In my area, there are large animal shelters - for the farm animals that have been abused - or the exotic animals that someone got and didn't take care of!. They need help as well - if such is in your area!.

Ask a local vet - they might know of places if you don't know of such places yourself!.

Hope that helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
