I want to be vegan but I can't get over my chocolate addiction... what should I do??!

Question: I want to be vegan but I can't get over my chocolate addiction!.!.!. what should I do!?!?
Answers:
The fact that you want to become Vegan is brilliant, well done you!. Give yourself a break, it takes time to change our diet!. If you can not get used to the taste of Vegan Chocolate, and if the only non-Vegan thing you eat at the moment is the odd bar of chocolate, then be kind to yourself, continue to eat it until you can comfortably give it up!.

No matter what your reasons are for becoming Vegan, there is one thing for certain, the more you eat Vegan the less appealing non-Vegan foods are!. So eat your chocolate whilst you need it, gradually start to replace it with Vegan chocolate if that is still your wish!.

Your diet is your choice, your responsibility, your decisions!. Don't let anybody bully you into becoming Vegan more quickly than you are ready to do!. Give yourself a pat on the back for what you have done and give yourself a break whilst your taste buds have time to adapt!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

mabye you are not ready to become a full vegan so why dont you try being a extremly stict vegitarien that way you wouldnt have to get over your chocolate addiction, and if you still wanted to give it up you could give it up slowly until you could finally compleately give it up then you could once again consider being a vegan!. if i were you i wouldnt rush into being a vegan take your time to give up chocolate and once your completely ready to become a vegan then you can!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just buy non-dairy vegan chocolate from companies like Green & Blacks, Sunspire, Endangered Species, etc!.

* Don't believe people who try to tell you that all chocolate contains insect particles!. Anything certified vegan can't contain that stuff and quailify for the label!.

Conventional chocolate is made with milk!. As has been said, there are vegan chocolates avaialble!. Conventional cocoa powder is vegan!. Semi-Sweet chocolate chips are vegan, etc!. Chocolate soy milk!. Soy "ice cream"!.

Try the following recipe (I've also seen it as Wacky Cake):

I use about ten rounded tablespoons of cocoa, I use whole wheat flour, and apple sauce for the oil!.
With it, I use this frosting recipe:http://vegweb!.com/index!.php!?topic=6603!.0
I start with the suggested amounts but add more to make sure I cover the whole cake!. I also use chocolate soy milk instead of the suggested vanilla!.

There is vegan chocolate, but it's likely going to taste like crap compared to what you're used to!. You won't have the milk solids to cut the bitterness of chocolate!.

I don't understand why you "want" to be vegan!? I just dont see why you should force yourself into a lifestyle it's pretty obvious that you don't really want!. You want your chocolate, and based on your other questions, you're trying to find the 'rules' of being one rather than having it be a natural decision to avoid meat!. Why torture yourself!? Why not just eat primarily vegtables/fruits and occasionaly eat meat/animal-byproduct!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Why do you want to be a vegan, you either are or you aren't!. You can't have double standards!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ditch the idea of being a vegan you need the nourishment of good foods!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
