I've been a vegetarian for a year, but I crave it almost every day!.!.!.!.!. I gave up meat for moral reasons, and I am very happy because every day I seem to hear more horrible news about how bad they are treating the animals!. I don't know any good meat substitutes, but chicken-less nuggets are pretty good!. Dr Praeger's veggie burgers are delicious too!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hi! I am a lacto-ovo-vegetarian for almost five years now and have never felt better!. I stopped fish and meat due to both health and moral reasons!. After that I have found so many substitutes in dairy products, fruits and vegetables, that I dont miss fish and meat at all!. Anyway now I cant stand fish or meat! But I do cook them for my family and get someone else to taste them!. Over these five years I have realized that this change in my diet has made me a more calmer and tolerant person than before and I intend to keep this up!.
There is nothing wrong in becoming a vegetarian as long as you plan your diet accordingly so that you get enough nutrients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a vegan, and yes, I consumed meat, dairy and eggs up until the age of 22!. I did some studying into the unhealthful qualities of animal products and decided what ever "taste" I might "sacrifice" was a small price to pay for avoiding the horrible things that animal products do to the human body!. I eat a well-balanced diet consisting of whole grains, legumes, vegetables, and fruit!.!.!.!.and sometimes a small amount of nuts!. I stay away from refined oil and sugar!. Do I miss animal products!? No, not a bit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, I ate meat until I was almost 17!. I don't miss it even the tiniest bit!. I've been veg*n over half my life and it's just not food anymore!. Period!. I gave it up for a variety of reasons, from health to animal welfare to environmental reasons, and each of those reasons is even more important to me today than it was 21 years ago!.

I don't eat a whole lot of meat subs, but I like Yves for "ground beef" and I make my own sausage from seitan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, I've been a vegetarian since I was eleven, so about five years!. I'm currently trying to go vegan, and I'm doing it for moral reasons!. :) It was actually really easy for me to go veg despite how I used to eat [a lot] of meat!. But the only thing that's ever tempted me is Skittles, which I gave up as soon as I found out they contained gelatin!.

But I will say that I still do like the taste of meat, and I still like the smell of it!. That's why they invented veggie burgers though!. To imitate meat!.

I like Morning Star, personally!. Their Chik'n Nuggets are phenomenal!. :DWww@FoodAQ@Com

I've been a vegan for 4 years, but I'm not gonna lie, I still think that barbecue smells good, although I'm not tempted to eat it because all of the reasons not to eat it overcome the good smell!. So don't feel guilty about thinking meat smells good, as long as you don't partake!

My favorite meat alternative is Yve's Veggie Brats!.!.!.Italian Sausage style!. Yves in general has good stuff; I like their "pepperoni" as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have tried reducing the amount of meat I eat and want to become a vegetarian!. Sometimes it's hard because I don't know what else there is to eat or sometimes my grandma makes her famous sloppy joes that I have loved ever since I was little!. But I think once I get more used to it that it'll be easier and I will be more educated about what to eat!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

i've only been a vegan for about 6 months now!.
i do want a cheese burger every now and then but it's easy to get my mind off of it!.!.!.
it was easy to give up due to the fact that i never ate any thing that had a bone on it when it was cooked and never really cared for a lot of the meat out there!.!.!.
i gave it up b/c of you tube!.!. i got a video about animal abuse and ended up watching how they killed animals!.!. it made me sick just to watch it!.!.!.

you can find all forms of vegan food in your local grocery store
just be careful b/c some product do say vegan but contain milk or eggs!.!.!.!.
the best place to look is a heath food store!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've been lacto-ovo-vegetarian since May 1998!. I gave up meat for ethical reasons!. I was never a big meat eater in the first place so it wasn't hard to do!. The only thing that I really miss are tuna sandwiches!. My son is 5 + a half + he's never eaten meat or fish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

im a vegatarian (only been one for 15 days) so yes ive eaten meat, and i did miss it for the first week but now i dont miss it anymore, and i became vegatarian because animals are killed cruelly and its cruel to kill a living animal for foodWww@FoodAQ@Com

I can't take to see the sight of meat!. I can't stand to smell it or be in the same room as it either!. I just feel so bad for the cute innocent animal that got killed!. I have never craved it or missed it ever!. I am a very proud vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes I ate meat before, I'm in my 30s and have been vegetarian for about 10 years!.
I believe that it is OK for the top of the food chain to eat those lower in the food chain, if there is no other recourse!.
However most humans are fine (even perhaps healthier) with a good vegetarian or vegan diet, so my preference is to avoid the unnecessary killing of animals for food!.
As I understand it, not all humans can live without eating meat, for genetic reasons, and I would never presume to push my opinions on another!.
I became vegetarian!.!.
a) Because I always felt it was appropriate not to be the cause of an animal's death if I don't need to be
b) Because I am a lousy cook and don't want food poisoning
c) Because my lifestyle is otherwise extremely unhealthy, and most vegetarians live longer, so I need the help
d) I was very keen on a nice lady who didn't eat meat, and her opinion was the final persuading factor!.

Tofu can be pretty decent if cooked right, but if it's cooked wrong it's ghastly!.
I hear:
Drain it - cut it - drain it more - dry fry it - then marinade it!.
Then chuck it in your pan and cook it up!.
I've had mixed success!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
