Believe me when I say I am vegan and a animal rights activist!. I do not support PETA anymore because the euthanize and advocate the euthanization of animals!. This is no joke and they have written aritcles about the subject!.

"the organization has practiced euthanasia for years!. Since 1998 PETA has killed more than 17,000 animals, nearly 85 percent of all those it has rescued!."

http://www!.newsweek!.com/id/134549!?from=r!.!.!.

Instead chose to support Physicans Committee for Responsible medicine which does no animal euthanization is against animal testing and promotes vegetarianism!.

It depends… unfortunately PETA and more Animal Welfare groups are up against a wall!. They all want to save animals, but where are they going to put hundreds of thousands of rescued “un-adoptable” animals!? Would it be more humane to allow them to live in horrible conditions, slowly dying in pain and filth, or to quickly and quietly put them out of their misery!?

If the animals weren’t bred to begin with and then indiscriminately handed out to random people as pets, Animal Rights organizations wouldn’t have to get their hands dirty and risk public criticism!. If you’ve seen some animals who end up in sanctuaries, you begin to understand why some simply cannot live with humans through no fault of their own!. If they can’t all live with people and sanctuaries can only house so many…!. where do all the others go!?

So, no, PETA doesn’t want this to be in its public spotlight, but for anyone who understands more than just the headlines about the Animal Rights issues, this situation is a cold, hard fact!.

For anyone who doesn't follow any type of Animal Rights movement, and has never formed an opinion about PETA one way or another, this type of news might make PETA seem hypocritical!.!.!. which opens the floodgates for attacks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They don't lie but sometimes they leave things out!. I think PETA does do some really great things, but I personally do not trust them!. There are a lot of anti-PETA groups that do lie about them!. I understand about why PETA puts animals down, there are just way too many of them but the fact that they did lie about it makes me not trust them therefore I do not support them with my money because I don't know what they will do with it and I would rather my money go directly to animals and not for ads and stuff like that!. I am all for what they are doing, but they do need to tone it down a little, they sometimes make us Animal Rights and Welfarists look bad!. I am thankfull for their shock tactics though, watching Meet your Meat made me quit eating chicken immediatley which I was having a hard time letting go!. I think some people need that shock factor to see what is really happening to animals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree with Love of Truth who says to not support PETA (they euthanize lots of pets and they are currently having a contest for someone to invent a genetically engineered meat from a petri dish!.!.!.sick idea)!. Support PCRM (Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine)!. I have not heard anything bad about them and they promote vegetarianism!.

PETA started out good with information on abuses at factory farms, animal testing abuses and people wearing furs tortures of animals, etc!. It has done some good, but somewhere along the way something has gone wrong there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

LOT and I are often on the far different ends of beliefs but apparently we both see PETA as an undesirable entity!. If you delve deep into PETA you'll see that not all is rosy and ethical regarding the animals!. Ethics is a persoanl matter and there are MANY who disagree with PETA's "ethics"!.

Do they lie!? I think they do!. I think when they are caught red-handed and called out on something, they lie through their teeth for "damage control"!. Gotta keep the sheep $$$ rolling in you know!

Why does PETA recruit the young!? To replace the adults who have seen them for what they are!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

PETA is a self serving organization well known for manipulating truth to fit their own arguments!. Agree with another poster that PETA will and has suppressed information that exposes or refutes its own statements!. for example, it has denied that it kills animals in its shelters!. The standard PETA line used by PETA itself and it's most fanatic supporters is that PETA does not maintain shelters!. But in it's disclosure statements to government regulatory agencies, PETA cites figures as to the number of animals it has killed in its shelters!. If PETA does not own or operate those shelters, why the disclosure!? You can go to www!.nokillnow!.com for more information regarding this matter!. It is but a sample of how PETA lies outright or manipulates information to serve its own agenda!. another is that while PETA makes statments opposing animal testing, the head of it's anti-vivisection (forgot the name but I think it's Karen Sweetfield or something like that) campaign uses medicine obtained from animals and researched through animal testing!. Yet you will not find that information in any PETA brochure or website!.

If they are such an "ethical" organization, why do you think they still only have 779,000 members WORLDWIDE!?!? why do you think they now have to resort to targeting impressionable children as young as six for membership!?

former PETA member and youth organizerWww@FoodAQ@Com

They don't "lie", but they don't always tell the whole truth, either!. They're very selective about the facts they present, and they use a lot of things with major shock value to promote their agenda!.

I'm very much in favor of the humane treatment of animals, but even I think PETA is shady!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They lie!. All the talk about seals being skinned alive they rant about is bullshit!. No seal hunter would do that because you could never do a good job on a moving seal!. Not sure what their claim to clubbing being cruel is based on!. In their video only one seal moved after the first whack!. And they must have paid someone to club one and let it die slowly, no way anyone would let them get close enough to pick up breathing with a mic without a bribe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes they do!.!.!.heres my point!.!.!.if peta video 20 farms!.!.!.and only catches one acting inappropriately!.!.!.they will only show that video!.!.!.they wont say 19 out of 20 were doing nothing wrong!.!.!.no they will make it look like that just happened to be a random farm for their first choice!.!.!.!.!.like every1 says!.!.!.they hype up the information they want to use then suppress the information they dontWww@FoodAQ@Com

I totally agree with "Love of Truth!." My father also informed me that PETA lies but he gave me a pile of articles and websites showing that they do, its sad but a lot of companies do that now!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sometimes, yes!. But much of the information is very selective!. They use information that supports their premise and suppress information that does not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do not know if they deliberately lie but they they will skew whatever truths they find to their full advantage!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

PETA brain washes people!!!!!
they
show videos which are true, but theyr main goal is to make stupid people become vejeterians, but one person becoming a vegeterian is not gonna stop thoes heartless people from killing animals!. i dont think peta lies, they show evidence!.
but what they are trying to do is stupid!.
arent people supposed to eat meat!?
what happent if they dont!?

i saw that in a south park episode =) haha, i dont know if its true, but dont people get all sick, if they stop eating meat!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
