Question: Im a vegatarian but im craving meat!!! How do i stop craving!!?!!?!!?
Every day i come home from school, go to the bathroom, change my clothes, then walk downstairs to get something to eat!. But every day(every day my dad works nights that is) when i walk downstairs my dad is sitting on the couch eating a big steak and it always looks so good and smells so good! I think meat is disgusting and repulsive but its smells so tasty and juicy and delicious!!! I want it so bad, i resist but I'm gonna crack one day, and i don't want to!! How can i stop!!!?!!?!!?!!?! I know its gross and bad and bad for those poor animals who die for fatty, dick-heads who only care to get their slaughtered, dead, disgusting, meat, and i don't want to be one of those dick-heads!!!! I want to be a clean(clean as in intestine clean!.!.!.and bodily clean too i guess), healthy, vegetarian!. But it smells sooooooo good!. HELP ME!!! How do i stop the cravings!?!!?!!?!!?!!!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I never craved steak when I first became vegetarian but I did crave chicken!. I did cave a couple of times because I worked in a restaurant that had killer chicken BUT I felt bad each time I did it!. Then I hadn't eaten meat in over a year and I got really sick because I wasn't eating a proper diet and my doctor put me on a diet and told me to start eating meat right away and I ate chicken and I had never been so sick in my life!. So, you may get a little sick if you try to eat meat, but it certainly won't kill you!. The guilt might first!.

I would say that your best bet is to go out and get yourself some boca burgers and grill them up and make yourself a huge "hamburger" with all the veggie toppings you can handle and even give yourself some fries, but try not to cave!. Sometimes you can't stop cravings until you have them, but don't crack!. You'll probably regret it if you do!. If you really want to talk yourself out of it, when you are around him eating it, try thinking about what happened to that meat!. You will probably feel even more repulsed!. Perhaps you haven't found the right "fake meat" yet!. Not every brand tastes the same!. Boca is good for beef and burgers!. Quorn is usually a winner with fake chicken lovers!. And Tofurky deli slices are good for pastrami, ham, etc!. all the deli meats!. Instead of trying to stop your cravings, try sampling other fake meats until you've found the one that satisfies!. When I started becoming a vegetarian, I craved meat every now and then!. I crumbled once!. Went out to the pub, ordered a large plate of chicken wings!. Ate two or three of them and was never more sick in my life so fast!. Took care of the cravings pretty damn fast!. Eat something dead once more and you'll never go back to it again!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

maybe you should try it!. as a veg myself, when I first started, I did crave meat!. but its amazing how disgusted with yourself you can become if you give in!. you will never forget that feeling, the day you give in and have an animal on your plate!. my last was ordering a chicken dish at a restaurant and wow was that an eye opener!. 5 years later and I still havent forgotten nor have I had any since!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Number one, Just eat the flake one or get another brand, search the web or order from somewhere else!.

Number two, do up a good sauce or something to make it taste better!.

Number three, do some experiments and try to made flake steak yourself, you may even get rich from that if you steak is yummy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can't stop the cravings, but they do go away after a while!. I gave into a craving and ate two bites of bbq ribs!. It was delish, but also greasy and just not fulfilling at all!. After that most of my cravings disappeared all together!.

first of all you are craving meat!?!? Vegetarians don't crave meat at all, the smell and thought of meat grosses them out!.!.!. my sister s one!! Meat is good for you once and awhile so FU cause im one of those "****-heads" you are talking about!!

You may just be craving protein!. Keep some boiled eggs,and good cheese handy!.Not processed cheese food! When get the cravings eat an egg ,or cheese,or some nuts!. You may need some vitamin B supplements as well!.

I think everyone craves something they know isn't good for them!. Don't punish yourself, if you give in once, it's not the end of the world, it's like an alcoholic falling off the wagon!.!.!.just get back on it! But, if you really don't want to fall off the wagon, remind yourself about why you gave up meat in the first place!. Watch a "Meet your Meat" video on PETA or read a news article that directly relates red meat with heart disease!. Just reinforce what's important to you!. Cravings are a body's way of telling you that you need more nutrients that are contained in whatever you are craving!.
You probably haven't been getting enough protein or fat since you've become a vegetarian and it's starting to catch up to you!.
Try eating a lot more beans and lentils and unsaturated fats and if the cravings continue after about a month consider trying protein shakes!. They won't make you bulk up (that's what I used to think)!.
After that if you're STILL craving steak and other meat, talk to your doctor!. He might suggest you start eating fish for a while!.
I know the thought of even fish might digust you, but if you're getting more than enough protein and you're still craving either you're too much of a meat eater, or you might have health problems that prevent you from becoming a full vegetarian!. (I'm assuming you're either in high school or college since you're living with your father) This is the most important growing time for you, so you really need to take very good care of your health now and that may require a few sacrafices such as eating fish!.

When people crave foods they usually visualize what it's going to taste like, smell like, look like, and they set their minds to eat it!.!. But it's the exact opposite with gross foods like brussel sprouts, worms lol , etc right!?
Now if you get it in your head that THAT MEAT tastes like worms, looks like armpit, and smells like sh*t!. Then once you get a whiff of it you will gag and not want to eat it!.
It all has to do with the mind!.!. just remember
Meat= Gross!.
Or if not, just for ONCE taste rotten meat and always know that its going to taste like that!. not so good huh!.

i have given up red meat for about a year now and to be honest i don`t really crave it at all but i do eat chicken and fish,i gave it up because i wanted to eat healthy and it was one thing that i decided i wanted to put out of my diet,i think we eat to much meat in general and most people when thinking what to have for a meal they base it around meat when there are alot of good alternatives out there,if you are only of school age i would be carefull to make sure that you get enough vitamins and minerals into your diet maybe take a good quality suppliment with iron etc espessially if you are a girl,if you do give into the cravings try to cut back on the red meat as oppossed to giving it up alltogether,good luck!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
