Question: Can this change really be attributable solely to stopping meat!? I am in the embryonic stages of becoming!?
a full fledged vegan, and until I get my next paycheck (which I'm going to spend mostly at Whole Foods, LOL) I have stopped all red meat, most meat actually, eating fresh fruits and vegetables and some fish (yes, I know, just until!.!.!.) and the change in how I feel is so extraordinary and I haven't even started yet, really, just ridding myself of meat basically until I cna go to Whole Foods and get my list filled!. I thought I had IBS the pain was so bad at times, but just for the past few days since I quit meat and started fruits and veggies, I feel so much better, how is this possible!?
Is this why some of you became vegans in the first place to feel better!? It sure works so far and I can't wait to see how I fare when I can get all the foods I need to go all the way, so to speak!. I've always been skeptical about vegan, but there I sat eating raw hamburger and tons of red meat and feeling absolutely horrible so guess who was right and who was wrong all the time!? I admit it was me!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

To speculate without any knowledge of your medical history, maybe you expected for it to make you feel better and in a way thinking positively and feeling good about your diet and meal choices benefited you!.

You probably drastically reduced your cholesterol intake, your saturated fat intake, and maybe even your general caloric intake!. If you're loading up on fruits and vegetables, you're eating nutritious, wholesome, high-fiber and antioxidant-rich food that keeps you full longer and makes you feel good!.

It might be in part the elimination of junk food (As you said, you're going for much more fruits and veggies) and the decrease in meat, which has no fiber and is probably high in fat, especially red meat!.

I actually took a look at this page, http://www!.ibshealth!.com/ibsfoodsinfo!.ht!.!.!. , which lists foods that are encouraged for people with IBS to eat - and it lists that red meat and processed meat and high fat meat in general (like dark meat, fatty cuts of fish, etc) should be avoided because the fat has been shown to irriate the digestive system!. It also talks about avoiding butter, frying things and cheese and other high-fat dairy products!. You might want to look into that page and also poke around other IBS-related websites to see if others experienced what you did!. According to that site, though, it seems like cutting red meat in particular really makes a difference!.

Good luck and I hope you continue to feel healthy :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

This change is because the human digestive system has a hard time digesting red meat!. A true carnivore, like a cat, has digestive acid 10 times stronger then a human!. Their whole digestive tract is designed for eating meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Glad to hear you want to feel healthful again!. For optimum health, eat Fresh ripe organic fruits and veggies!. Stay away from more than 10% fat in your diet!. Eat Raw to be your best!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
