Can a vegetarian have fish oil ? what is it exactly from the fish ?!

Question: Can a vegetarian have fish oil !? what is it exactly from the fish !?
Answers:
It depends on what kind of vegetarian you are!. If you are one of those stupid vegetarians who don't eat red meat only, you can!. If you are a vegan, ovo-lacto vegetarian, or any of the other types of vegetarians, than no, you should not have fish oil!. Fish oil is usually derived from the liver, or other parts (yes, the liver)!. I'm not sure of what other organs or parts of the fish fish oil can come from, but I am pretty sure it can come from other parts!. (But I think the liver is most comonly used!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, vegetarians don't eat animals!. They don't eat slabs of animal flesh, they don't drink animal broth, and they don't eat animal fat!. Fish oil is from the fat of a dead fish so it's not remotely vegetarian!.

There is also no reason why a vegetarian would need fish oil!. Fish are not the only source of omega-3!. It can also be found in flax seeds, flax oil, walnuts, canola oil, soybeans and dark green leafy vegetables!. Veg*ns can also take supplemental omega-3 from marine microalgae, which is where the fish get theirs to begin with!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A vegetarian shouldn't have fish oil, since after all, it comes from an animal!. However it is up to the individual vegetarian to decide what is right!. It's subjective in the way as honey is to vegans!. Some vegans eat it, most don't!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you need a good substitute, consider flax oil!. You can get it in a capsule (make sure the capsules are made from fake gelatin) , in the form of flax seeds, or a bottle of oil!. My doctor suggested it because fish oil gave me stomach issues!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Can you fail at life!? You're like my grandmother!. If it's from an ANIMAL (ie!. fish), it's not vegetarian!.

If it's called FISH OIL!. It's going to have fish in it, or else they would call it canola oil or something like that!.

Some people!. Seriously!. *Rolls eyes*Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm Vegan and I take it, its probally against the "rules" but its such a good sorce of Omega-3, I dont know of any other alternatives!. I think its from the fishes liver!. Ew, its really gross when you think about it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

vegans can get omega 3 fat from flax seeds, it's not found only in fish!. well, anyone can get it from flax seeds actually!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
