Does the 1965-1999 study in Japan confirm that Soy products contribute to brain atrophy with aging?!

Question: Does the 1965-1999 study in Japan confirm that Soy products contribute to brain atrophy with aging!?
These days, essentially everything contains soy!. Almost all processed foods, essentially any bread you can find, soups, etc!. It's virtually /impossible/ to avoid having a little soy in your diet - and as such, there is to be expected a lot of controversy surrounding soy itself!. Now, Mercola's well known diatribe against soy products aside, a study conducted in Japan between 1965-1999 correlated tofu intake with exacerbated effects of aging on the brain, quickening atrophy and causing impaired cognitive function!. That study can be found here!. http://www!.jacn!.org/cgi/content/full/19/!.!.!.

Is there any credence with this study!? Should soy containing products be alltogether avoided in elucidation of the conclusion!? I proffess, it has iffy about continuing to eat anything that has soy in it!. What do others think!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
From what I've read, it was the fact that tofu (most commonly consumed soy food) is processed with aluminum (a known agent for causing degenerative brain disorders) that causes problems!. This is why many people avoid using deodorants with aluminum as an active ingredient!.

I mostly avoid soy products simply because there are no definitive answers right now, and I don't feel like being a guinea pig!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

wow- I love soy milk, but this has really made me second- guess drinking it!. I don't have it in high doses- once a day in cereal is about it!. I found another very interesting article- just further evidence really that maybe there is such effect and more research should be done on the matter!.!.!.
