AFRAID to be vegetarian...?!
I have just watched a video on peta that has made be consider becoming a vegetarian!. However, I have some problems: 1) I LOVE chicken 2) my family is not vegetarian and will not support me 3) I do not buy my own food and 4) I am always surronded by tempting meat!.
I have already decided to give up red meat--that was easy because my family doesn't eat that much red meat anyway, but it's going to be really hard to give up fish and chicken because not only do I love it, but so does everyone else around me!.
Any advice!? Because of my situation, should I be a vegetarian like every other week, or should I try to go cold turkey!? (no pun intended) How can i go cold turkey!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

i think that you should just eat what you love!. try and convince your partents (asuming those are the people buying the food) to buy organic or friendly cage free raised chicken and fish!. just because you watched a video doesnt mean you have to stop all together!. just do some research about the companies that sell the meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
1) if you LOVE chicken, then dont eat them!. They are living, breathing, suffering species just like you
2) talk to your family about why you are vegetarian, show them the video, you don't know they wont support you until you try!. Offer to cook some yumme vege dishes for them
3) go shopping with your Mum and show her alternatives
4) when you are surrounded by meat remember the reasons why you are vegetarian!. millions of people do it, including myself, it is a wonderful lifestyle!.
good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

1)I used to love chicken, but I quickly got over it by realizing what good I was doing for the chickens and environment!.
2) My family isn't vegetarian, but they do support me!. Your family will probably come to understand why you're doing what you're doing and they will support you
3) Ask your parents to please buy you simple vege food like mac & cheese or salads in the beginning and maybe later on they will buy the more expensive healthy vege food
4) don't let the temptation overcome you!.
I went cold turkey and didn't find it difficult at allWww@FoodAQ@Com

If there is no compelling reason to go veg, like some health concern, and your whole family eats fish and chicken, all you will accomplish is to get them all annoyed at you!.
I recommend you don't bother!.
I know a family that has ONE vegetarian and it is a constant hassle to find something to please her, and she is always bugging them all with her philosophy!.They are all sick of hearing it and they go out to eat without her!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Being a vegetarian every other week is definately NOT a real vegetarian!. I went cold-turkey!. My mum doesn't believe me when I tell her that I am a vegetarian, yet I still refuse meat!. My dad won't support me, but I find stuff to eat!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
dont be vegetarian theres no reason to be vegetarian if god didnt want us to eat animals he wouldnt have made them taste so good seriously why not consider having a burger another shot meat is goodWww@FoodAQ@Com
I went vegetarian, because of Peta and my family didn't like it!. Hubby is a BIG meat eater, but in my heart, I am a veg!. if i were single, I would be a vegetarian!. hardcore, but not to the point of driving everyone nuts with it!. I would let ppl notice i am not eating meat!.I would not suggest doing so at your age!. Wait till u get older, like nearly on yer own and then go for it!. It is actually cheaper!.But if u are one, u need to take vitamins and calciul, ( think Tums!!!) and I do drink Soymilk, my ONe thing I can't give up, oh and peanut butter noodles!. I can't quit that,either!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Most vegetarian friends that I know went 'cold turkey'!. I guess it's a thing you learn when you become a vegetarian!. You learn how to deal with people's negativity and disapproval!. It's not that hard to do!. I was vegetarian and now I am a vegan!.
I can't tell you how many people have brought my veganism choices up and who think it's ridiculous - but you learn how to deal with it!. And you can't run away from it either, every where you go you are going to get somebody bullying you for some reason; whether you're a vegetarian, vegan or meat-eater!. You can't hide from it!.
The best advice I can give you, is do what your heart tells you!. Follow your heart and don't be afraid to follow it because you think nobody will support you!. You are your own person and the only person you NEED supporting you is you!.
Good luck and I hope everything goes well!. Feel free to email me if you have any further questions!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I suggest talkin to your family about it!. when i decided to go vegetarian i felt i needed to tell my mother who was the cook coz it meant extra work on her hands!. i needed to tell the rest of my family coz they needed to accomodate my new lifestyle into events and parties!.
i was lucky because my mother was very supporting!. and i offered to cook my own meals on days i had time!.
and everybody else made a mental note about my veggies!.
i suggest if you are not able to reach a comfortable arrangement with your family - wait for when it is right for you and then start!.
trust me temptation is the biggest hurdle!. make sure you have someone, who has done this or is starting this with you, around to talk to abt this coz you;l need the support

You shouldn't consider becoming a vegetarian because of a PETA propaganda video that shows nothing but lies and fakery!. If you really want to become a vegetarian, you should do so only for health reasons such as you are allergic to certain types of meat!. Eat what you like only do so in moderation!.
