Do you have any WARNINGS for vegetarians and vegans?!

Question: Do you have any WARNINGS for vegetarians and vegans!?
EXAMPLE:

I worked at Quizno's for a while and was horrified to know that they use the pepperoni to grease the slicer before cutting meats and cheeses, therefore all the cheese has come into contact with meat!.!.!.even the blood from the roast beef!.

All the veggies had little bits of meat in them because half of them were right beside meat!.

also, the guacamole always had little chunks of bacon in it because of the spatula we had to use to spread it!.

Quizno's was my favorite before I worked there!.

I wanted to know if any of you have a similar thing to warn other vegetarians and vegans about!. We can all help each other!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

GROSS!!! I can't tell you how many times I have ordered something with no meat and gotten some piece of random meat in MY FOOD - even in so called nice restaurants!. also,no ethnic food is truly vegetarian - some cultures just don't understand it - for example the "vegetarian" enchiladas had chicken broth in them at an authentic Mexican place in town!. Oh and my waitress at Outback told me that the potato soup was made with vegetable broth and not chicken broth - I even asked her to go check and she came back and said "yep"!. So, the next time I asked and the new waitress was a vegetarian and told me they use chicken broth in ALL soups at Outback and most restaurants - even the vegetable soup at restaurants starts with chicken broth!. I learned that years ago, but just wanted to share!. You can't really trust wait staff that aren't vegetarians!. I like to eat at home or my mom's house!!! or one of the 3 truly vegetarian places around here!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Quizno's doesn't even publish nutrition or ingredient information; it doesn't surprise me that what you described is the case!.

If you are personally turned off by the thought of your food being in contact with, being cooked on the same surfaces as, and being near meat and animal products, then I would suggest that you never eat out!. I'm not being facetious, it's just very hard to tell what's going into your food!.

From an ethical vegetarian standpoint, if you aren't requesting meat products, you aren't creating demand for them!. If your food happens to have come into contact with meat or a cooking surface that had meat on it, I don't find this to create conflict with leading a vegetarian lifestyle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They better hope the health inspector doesn't walk in on them!. What you discribe is a violatoin of health code atleast in my State!.

Eating out is always a risk, even for meat eaters, so eat at places you can trust!. Even then how do you know that Goober behind the grill washed his hands after using the bathroom!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think that's a risk at any restaurant, even really good ones!. They don't isolate cheese and veggies from all meat products!.

A kosher restaurant would be safe, as long as you're ordering sometihng with dairy!. They will take care that nothing has come in contact with meat if there is dairy in the meal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well in Australia I'm pretty sure we don't have Quinzo's!. But my bestfriend worked at KFC and she said that when they make the chips it's the same place where the chicken is!. She also said that when they got the chickens (un-cooked) in boxes, there were still one or two feathers on them!. Yuck!

So no KFC for me!. Or Quinzo's!.!.!. if we ever get one here!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

don't judge me as a meat eater because i don't judge you as a non-meat eaterWww@FoodAQ@Com
