Answers:
No sweetie, you will be serving other people meat not yourself!. Unless your vegetarian for religious reasons I see no problem with this!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends!.!.!.!.

Will you be working in leather shoes!?

Will you eat sweets on your break with gelatin in them!?

Are you simply a non meat eater, or do you avoid everything that encourages the using of animals and their products!?

Personally, I believe that the canine teeth I have imply that we are designed to eat flesh, but it doesn't bother me what others choose to do!. I try to buy products where the animals have at least had a reasonable standard of treatment during their lives- I do not eat foie gras or veal, for example, and buy proper free range eggs!.

It is not even going to make a 'drop in the ocean's worth' of difference if you refuse to handle my foot long Teriyaki on Honey Oat at my local Subway, as someone else will simply take the job!. It is only in your head that there might be an ethical debate about whether you should or shouldn't, but just look at it like this!.!.!.

Subway will still exist, countless millions of sarnies will still be sold, I will still be eating meat, so do you (in your fetching latex gloves!) want the job or not!?

I hope you make the right choice for you- no-one else can really make the choice for you!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think anyone can tell you that!.

Only you know your reasons why you are a vegetarian!. You have to apply those reasons to handling meat!.
- If it is for health reasons then it doesn't matter!.
- If it is because you don't want animals to suffer you should promote organic meat and support the organisations that use that!.
- If you flat out think killing animals is wrong then that would probably include working for an organisation that buys large quantities of dead animals such as Subway!.

So it doesn't really matter whether people here tell you it is right or wrong, that's just their opinion!. Including me :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would say it depends on the reason for you being vegetarian!. If you're veg for health reasons, environmental reasons, etc, and you don't have a problem with handling meat, then I'd say that's okay!. If that IS the case, then ignore the next paragraph, lol!.

If you ARE vegetarian for the animals, then I'd say that would be REALLY really really really REALLY bad! lol, It'd pretty much be saying, "Well I don't support eating meat, but I'll support OTHERS eating meat and even SUPPLY you with the dead flesh with my own 'vegetarian' hands in the name of getting some money!" lol, Really doesn't add up!.

And even though you're wearing latex gloves, you're still TOUCHING the meat; you're just not getting skin contact with it!. You're still touching it 100%, and it's still dead flesh of a slaughtered animal !.!.!. Ew!. lol, Sorry if that was too much, but I hope it helped!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you're a vegetarian for ethical reasons then here's something to think about!.!.!.by working for an establishment that makes it's profits from meat, you are contributing to the meat industry!.!.!.and the whole point of 'ethical' vegitarianism is to not buy into or contribute to it!.!.!.!.I'm just sayin!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you are a VEGAN then it is an Issue as they aim to avoid ALL animal products!. Vegetarians simply do not eat meat, some eat dairy (milk, cheese) and some eat eggs!.

And on a similar point many Vegans will not use leather at all as its an animal product but many vegetarians do as its a by product not the reason for the animals slaughter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No you are OK!. I am a vegetarian I don't follow alll the rules!. I eat fish, I wear leather shoes!. But if anyone says anything I ask them what are their beliefs and how far do they go!?!?!?

That usually shuts them up!. If you are OK with what you do then it's all OK!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's not a problem at all dont worry about it!. Alot of cooks are vegetarians handle meat all the time!. As long as you don't consume the meat you'll be fine, and stil to those 'Veggie Delight's!Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, for as long as you don't see a proplem with it, it's fine!.
I have a friend who is vegi yet she will make roast chicken for people!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No worries there, because it is your choice not to eat meat!. But if it bothers you to handle meat that other people eat then don't work there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No way!
Unless you're purposely consuming that meat, you are not breaking vegetarianism!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No dear your are not!. You would only do that is you ate the meat!. This is not like you are working at a slaughter house!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No you arent breaking anything until you cave and make yourself a glorious Meatball Marinara 12 inch sub!. Oh they are so good!. Come on over to the dark side!. The food is amazingWww@FoodAQ@Com

i thought if you were a vegitian it would only matter if you eat the food so i dont think touching it would matter!.!. so i think your safeWww@FoodAQ@Com

No that will be fine as long as you don't consume any of the meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not if you don't eat the food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if your not eating it i cant see how your be breaking itWww@FoodAQ@Com

No you're not consuming it so you're still a veggie!. xWww@FoodAQ@Com

noWww@FoodAQ@Com

your fineWww@FoodAQ@Com

depends Why ur a veggieWww@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think that's a problemWww@FoodAQ@Com
