Anybody a "fake vegetarian" like me?!

Question: Anybody a "fake vegetarian" like me!?
I recently gave up meat after having a conversation with an endocrinologist about all the estrogen that is injected in most animals!. However, I am not vegetarian!. I still occasionally eat meat when I get around to buying organic meat, I just don't eat it when I don't know where it came from!. I don't claim to be vegetarian or vegan!.
Anyhow, my cousin has a young girl who is kind of on the chunky side and is already getting breasts and acne at the age of 8!.My cousin feeds her lots of processed meats because "that's all she likes to eat"!. When I told her about the outrageous amount of hormones in hot dogs, my cousin told me I was being hypocritical because I still eat meat!.
I know that my cousin can afford higher quality food (she's an attorney), so it's not a money thing!.
Is it really hypocritical if I talk to people about not eating processed meat while I still eat meat myself!? Should I just mind my own business and watch my niece get fatter and fatter!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I see you as a person that is concerned about the quality of food that you place within your body!. While you do eat meat - you do not eat the chemical overdosed animal meat that is so common in the market place now days - but opt for non-hormone meats and meat raised in a more humane way the corporate farming methods!.

To me - sounds like you have done your homework - know of the dangers in processed meats today - and that your cousin hasn't and doesn't want to hear about it or address the issue with her child - for whatever reason!.

Just hope that they will research it on their own - not much else that you can do!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

How does eating organic meat make you a "fake " vegetarian!? As long as you are not going around claiming you don't eat animal products, then it's okay!. Although, regarding the fact that you assumed that your niece's development issues are due to the fact that she is eating meat that is not organic-This is false!. There is nothing wrong with a chubby eight year old, and it makes you seem hypocritical!. If someone doesn't want to change, they won't!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, it's not hypocritical!. You're not saying she shouldn't eat meat, just that she shouldn't eat the processed stuff - and since you're not eating the processed stuff, it sounds to me as if you ARE practicing what you're preaching!

And you're right about your cousin's daughter!. The same thing happened to my niece!. Her parents started buying organic meat and milk, and the problem was totally handled!. If your cousin doesn't believe you, suggest that she ask the doctor!.!.!.she'll get the same message!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i am not a fake vegitarian, but i do not eat any bolognia or hot dogs! i think that when you tell your cousin that she should be buying better foods, does not make you hypocriticall, yet maybe you should suggest that she cooks it in a different way, or with sauces or with other foods that her daughter likes (vegtables)!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your an organic free range meat eater; not a "fake vegetarian!." I wish we had more meat eaters like you, it would put an end to the factory farms!. "Processed meats" are nothing but junk food, but unfortunately it's your cousin's business what she feeds her daughter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, because your not a major meat eater!. Its kinda telling them to tone down of her heavy meat eating habits, to be healthier!Www@FoodAQ@Com

lol noWww@FoodAQ@Com

It's hypocritical to tell people not to do something and then do it yourself!. Which is not what you are doing - unless you are still eating processed meat!? Suggesting organic products and eating those products is being health conscience and a good friend/family member!. However, no one likes being told what to do or that they are making bad decisions!. So if your ideas are falling on deaf ears or making people angry - drop it!.

also, just because your cousin is an attorney doesn't mean she can afford it!. You never really know what's going on in someone else's house and assuming things never gets you anywhere!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I really don't think getting breasts and having acne is a side effect of eating things like hot dogs!. Some kids develop early!. Acne can also be a sign of poor hygene, not necessarily hormones!. I ate hot dogs all the time when I was a kid, and never got breasts--not even when I hit puberty, lol!. And I didn't get acne till I was a teenager!. You're not a hypocrite as long as you tell her to buy organic and fresh meat, and stay away from processed foods!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
