If we could breed a cow that enjoyed its life producing meat more than a natural one in the wild, eat it?!
Assuming a cow could be bred to enjoy the industrial road to becoming beef more than a natural cow enjoys life in a field, would it be ethically wrong to oppose eating it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Before you go that far, I'd like some hard proof that cows don't enjoy their life as it already is!. Saying it's impossible they might is merely a person's projection of their values onto another; in this case, a pretty dumb cow, and therefor cannot be proven to be true!.
I know dairy cows line up at milking time!. Their internal clock tells them it's time!. They don't need to be prodded or poked into the milk barn!. It's actually funny to see them line up outside waiting before the doors are even open!.
Similarly, I don't think beef cows have any idea what's coming to them and it's over before they know what happened!. Sorry PETA, ELF, and others!. That's the simple truth!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think more people would eat meat if this happened as people would have less reason to believe cows do not enjoy their life!. So I don't think yours is a stupid question like some people are saying!.
However i find it hard to believe that it would ever be possible because i don't see how they could enjoy being slaughtered, which is probably why people are disagreeing with your question!. also, a lot of animal tests would need to be done to make this work, and any true vegetarians would disagree with this and therefore not eat the meat for that reason!.
I am vegetarian and i wouldn't eat the meat, because i do not think it is possible for this idea of breeding to be ethical!. I suppose if it happened ethically before i become vegetarian, i may not have become vegetarian at all!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

According to a new report published by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the livestock sector generates more greenhouse gas emissions as measured in CO2 equivalent – 18 percent – than transport!. It is also a major source of land and water degradation!.
Says Henning Steinfeld, Chief of FAO’s Livestock Information and Policy Branch and senior author of the report: “Livestock are one of the most significant contributors to today’s most serious environmental problems!. Urgent action is required to remedy the situation!.”
With increased prosperity, people are consuming more meat and dairy products every year!. Global meat production is projected to more than double from 229 million tonnes in 1999/2001 to 465 million tonnes in 2050, while milk output is set to climb from 580 to 1043 million tonnes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I wouldn't eat it, it would still be killed and have its life cut short, so I think it would not be ethically wrong to oppose eating it!. I don't believe any animal should die for my benefit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
No it wouldn't be ethically wrong!.
Cows are bred for the Dairy industry (females)!.

I wouldn't I'm opposed to manipulating life altogether!. If anyone could screw up someone else's mind to the point where they enjoy their shitty life before a horrible gruesome death!.!.!. think of what a scary place the world would beWww@FoodAQ@Com
did you just finish "hitchhikers guide to the galaxy" or something!? Unless YOU would enjoy being slaughtered and eatten, don't expect any animal to be!. what a silly questionWww@FoodAQ@Com
No I wouldn't eat it!.
Yes it is still ethically wrong!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hell Yeah you eat it!.!.!.!.!.do you think we could alter it to make its blood taste like A1 also!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Uhmmm, some things are just weird and wrong, dude!.!.!. that's like how some people enjoy self-mutilating but society really should step in & get them help!.!.!. how could anyone enjoy factory farming though is another question!.!.!.!.!. and actually, you can't genetically manipulate an animal to control how it'll literally feel and make it feel like happy about everything that happens to it, you are not born with an inherent emotion - our emotions change!.!.!.!. total sci-fi!. At most you could shut off parts of animals brain after it's born to control what it can and cannot feel, but it's risky and ridiculous!.
Maybe an animal could be bred to feel no pain, there are genetic disorders/nerve damage that make people feel absolutely nothing so I am sure animals can get the same thing!.
However that sounds ridiculous, how far w/ nature will we tamper!? If animals don't feel anything the cows would not have symptoms if they're sick or cancerous, so they'll never be checked, there'd be even more sick and nasty cows getting ground up for meat (and not on purpose this time, unlike that california slaughterhouse they busted a few weeks ago!)!.!.!. they'd walk on broken limbs until their bones are shards since they'd never feel it, and never be inspected!.!.!. they might attack each other or do crazy stuff, you can go out on a limb because you really tampered with their ability to interact w/ their bodies & environment!! That sounds equally wrong!. Plus I oppose tampering with nature, evolution and genetic adapting to surroundings happens over hundreds of thousands of years and not in a few years in a science lab, and what are the effects if we keep genetically altering even the very nature & structure of food!?!? we already see the health effects of the geneticaly modified corn syrup, and soon cloned animals will be eligible for human consumption!.!.!.!.!.!. we really need to all step back and evaluate why we are so obsessed w/ needing a McDonalds on every corner and beef 4-5 times a week!!
I just don't get it, it's horrible for the environment & red meat is the one type of meat that's most associated w/ illnesses including cancers, etc!. It's not even a good source of B-12, mollusks and clams are the richest source of B-12 and beef liver barely following that, and actual ground beef (something most people eat) has less than most fortified breakfast cereals, not even 20% of the daily value!.!.!. it's ridiculous!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
