Where do the animals used for meat get their protein?!
Just for the fun of it since 3 or 4 times a day people ask where we get ours!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Most animals used for meat are naturally herbivorous!. So they get all their protein from plant-sources!.
Humans who believe meat is the only essential form of protein are seriously misguided!.
Protein comes in all foods, including vegetables and fruits!.
People get too much protein in recent years, coupled with lack of exercise, this is a major cause of obesity and serious health-related problems!.
In the past 60 years people have started to center their diets around meat!. Coincidentally, health has started to decline with the uptake in meat, and especially, dairy intake!. This is the first generation where scientists believe we will have a lower life expectancy than that of our parents!. This can be attributed to the move away from plant foods because of the advent of factory farms and the easy availability of meat and dairy foods!.
Just an example:
Native Hawaiians ate plant foods and some fish up until the introduction of cattle and pigs (read excessive fat and protein) during the late 18th Century!. When this occurred there was a switch from lean, active, and healthy Hawaiians, to obese, unhealthy natives!. They were known to live into their 80's and 90's before caucasians arrived and they were active until their deaths!. Now, beef and pork is a huge export of Hawaii and the state is one of the most obese in the nation with Hawaiian locals having a life expectancy in the 60-70 year range!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

As for the cow and many fishes the answer is plant source! It should kinda tell a person that protein and other nutrients that come from an animal are 2nd hand!. We can get better amounts if we eat the plants they thrive off of for our selves!Www@FoodAQ@Com
As a non-vegetarian I do not want to get too involved in this discussion, however pigs were brought to Hawaii by Polynesians before the white man arrived!.
Native Hawaiian!.
Pork is common among Polynesian peoples!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
