Do you believe dosmestic animals should live should be allowed to go extinct?!

Question: Do you believe dosmestic animals should live should be allowed to go extinct!?
Correct me if I am wrong but I believe this is PETA's stance!. They believe domesticated animals to be unnatural and to experience a certain amount of suffering because of it!.

It seems they would at best want the animals to live out their lives in some sort of refuge & not allowed to breed till the point of extinction!.

Personally I do not subscribe to this view!. But I was wondering what other animal rights believers thought about this potential goal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No I do not agree with this at all!. Although the good thing about it would be that no more animals would suffer by the hands of man again!. That is until man decides to domesticate the wild animals that are left and then abuse them as well!. So the only way it would work would be to rid the world of all animals, which is RIDICULOUS!. I also believe that animals help us, and as long as the animals are enjoying doing it (police dogs, seeing eye dogs and such) then there is no problem with it!. I personally don't know where I would be without my domesticated animals, probably 6 feet under because I have many times thought of suicide but looked at my animal friends and realized I couldn't leave them in this god awfull world!. Happy day to you:)
I DO understand though where PETA and other animal rights people are coming from about this!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

From what I understand we are all somewhat challenged with eventual extinction as a species!. Given that we are the most dangerous animal on the planet to ourselves and all other species not to mention the planet itself -- extinction seems somewhat inevitable!. Especially when we promote GMO foods, cloned animals, and seeds that self destruct after one growing season, pesticides and herbicides and a real problem with the water supply!. And especially when our endless, mindless babbling conversations on cell phones are more important than the survival of the honey bees that pollinate our food crops!.
Are you serious!? We are not going to allow the extinction of the domesticated animals we are actively seeking it for them and ourselves!.
Diet Coke anyone!? Hormone laden flesh foods!? Anyone!? How about those yummy toxic stews of Steroids, hormones, antibiotics and pesticides fed to those poor critters and then ingested!? Really, are you putting us on!? Extinction!? Bring it on!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If PETA want domestic animals to become extinct, then I am afraid that their logic is flawed!. I don't want to see any animal become extinct, domestic or otherwise!.

In fact, I don't support or oppose PETA!. I don't have any strong views on them, but I do think they are a little too extreme and there are better ways to promote the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle!.

[edit] I don't think domestic animals should go extinct, because all life is precious and pets/companian animals have a lot to offer to the world!. They bring happiness into our lives!.

peace :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Foolish!.!.!.!.

If you know anything about biology or the history of life you'd understand that 99!.99% of all animals/life that has ever inhabited the Earth has gone extinct!.

Extinction is a part and necessity of life and we along with everything we know will eventually go extinct and be replaced by another organism!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Dude!. Where do you get this stuff!? This is certainly NOT PETA's stance!.

Animals deserve happy, care-free lives and merciful deaths!.

NOT what the factory farm industry has to offer!.

Check the link below to a Rolling Stone article!. THAT is the sort of thing PETA seeks to do away with!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't support this view of PETA's, but I do support what they are trying to achieve!. I think that they have this view because so many domesticated animals are abused each year!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Domestic animals are vital to the existence of Human civilization!. Animals such as domestic cows, chickens, and sheep, would not survive without Human altered environments!. They could not compete with native grazers and predators!. Domestic animals do not suffer because they are bred to thrive in an anthropologically adapted environment!.
Goats, pigs and horses do alright because they are more adaptable, and their original environment is comparable to North America!.
PETA needs to get their priorities straight!. We need some regulation on invasive species! PETA should to be fighting for the rights of the People that care for domestic animals!
PTTP! If your question is about "companion" animals then, I think that cats and dogs can adapt without Humans, after all, they evolved alright before Humans and I have seen many independent "pets"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I understand your question is about Companion Pets (dogs and cats for example)

http://www!.peta!.org/about/faq-comp!.as

The issue is that we breed domestic animals because we love companion pets!. However, this has created an overpopulation crisis so every year, millions of unwanted animals suffer from animal cruelty, abandonment, a lifetime of being warehoused in animal shelters and/or are euthanized

Nobody wants the 10,000 homeless cats and dogs that are put to death EVERY DAY!.

Warehousing animals in animal shelters indefinitely is not the answer!. Animals do not just require food, water, and a time limited walk!. They are social animals and have other needs which are equally important to remain healthy and happy, such as kin networks/companionship!.

So Peta's stance is that all breeding should stop!. That all animals already in shelters should be given the opportunity of being re-homed!. That all companion pets should be spayed to prevent more companion animals suffering!.

I have a very old cat I adore but I do agree with Peta's view on this question!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

PETA should stand for
People
Eating
Tasty
Animals
as for pets most are happy and well cared forWww@FoodAQ@Com
