Is it viable for Britain to go Vegan?!

Question: Is it viable for Britain to go Vegan!?
yes it would help the environment and make us all healthier, but could we grow soya beans in the uk and other types of grains that we eat, where do most soya beans come from, would we have to import TOFU on a mass scale!?

Answers:
Britain imports a significant percentage of its food already!. Veganism does not equal tofu-eating (sure, there is a lot of overlap, but you can quite easily be a vegan without eating any soy products at all, just as a lot of people who eat tofu aren't even vegetarian, let alone vegan) - some people are allergic to soy, some are just not keen on it!. If you really wanted to, you could probably grow your own soybeans at home, even indoors - it wouldn't require tens of thousands of hectares of dedicated soy plantations!.

But, as for the viability !.!.!. nope! There are too many industries in Britain (and most other countries) that rely (even if only in an indirect way) on the exploitation and/or slaughter of animals!. It could never happen!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It would never happen, you cant make an entire nation go Vegan!. A vegan diet is not healthy for everyone!.!.!.!.

Soy beans are grown everywhere now though but yet lots would be imported and already is!.

The UK could not grow enough of everything for the nation to go Vegan nor could a nation farm if they were entirely Vegan as the cost to grow all of that without any animal work or fertilizer is absurd!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the sheer volume of land required to plant just crops would require alot of money and space we just dont have!.!.!.we would have to import everything which wouldnt be helping the environment!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
