Every company is going to have different policies!. If you live near a plant that makes tofu, call and ask!.

One thing they do have to allow, even if they don't conduct public tours, is health inspectors!. Throwing dead animals and defecating into the mix would cause them to be shut down!.

Whoever is telling you this is likely anti-tofu!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, many tofu factories allow tours!. I did a basic Yahoo search for "tofu factory visit" and I saw hundreds of links to school field trips (like this one http://cms!.westport!.k12!.ct!.us/cmslmc/mys!.!.!. tourist trips to Japanese tofu factories, a Hawaiian factory that has an involved factory tour, etc!. Unlike slaughterhouses, there's nothing obvious to shelter children from in a tofu factory!. also, you assume it will somehow gravely affect vegetarians to suggest that tofu factories are gross, but not every vegetarian eats tofu, I hardly ever eat any soy products!.

I know you are being facetious and making this up to challenge someone else's question, but for the heck of it, there shouldn't even be blenders in tofu factories, that makes no sense!. Soybeans are generally mashed/pressure cooked, strained, seperated from the fiber so that only liquid remains and then coagulated into tofu!. No blenders necessary!.

also, while there are thousands of reports, lawsuits, court documents and health department filings about violations in slaughterhouses; when I looked up OSHA, health department reports and court cases regarding tofu factory incidents, I could find barely any!. The worst I found was Tofu House in California, whose violations are:

Holding of PHF
Improperly Cleaned/Not Maintained Clean
Storage
Unapproved Type/Improper Use/Improper Installation
Ventilation
