Pop Secret Homestyle Popcorn - Vegan?!

Question: Pop Secret Homestyle Popcorn - Vegan!?
So, I picked it up at the store today, reading a dairy free ingredients list!. The front of the package, however says "made with a sprinkle of salt and a taste of butter!."

There are no indications that there is butter/any milk products in the popcorn, but I know some food companies fail to inform people with eating needs and allergies!.

Anyone happen to know!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Those missing animal ingredients you're expecting to find are probably under the "Natural and Artificial Flavor" category on the ingredients!.

Besides, I'd try to avoid this stuff anyway!. It has partially hydrogenated oil in it, which is trans fat!. That stuff's basically poison!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your potential problem (based on the pic you posted) is the "natural flavors added!." Natural flavors can come from plant or animal sources and you cannot know for sure unless you ask the manufacturer!. Since the front says "!.!.!.a taste of butter" I'd personally assume the natural flavors are of dairy origin and err on the side of caution!. Or call and ask!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you scroll down and click on "homestyle", this ingredient list says that there is butter in it!.

http://www!.generalmills!.com/corporate/br!.!.!.

not sure if your package is different, but I'd go with the website!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Euphoric nailed it!. Butter is not vegan, so your popcorn is not vegan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just call them!. You'll have authoritative information and not hearsay!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just eat it and be more careful next time!. Don't beat yourself up over it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
