Why wouldn't it be ok for a teenager to be a vegan!? As long as you eat healthy and get all the proteins you need, you're in like Flynn!.!.!. as the saying goes!.
I'm seventeen and a vegan!. I found the transition of eating meat to not eating meat and all products derived from an animal really easy!. I'm an animal lover and eating meat and dairy just made me feel too guilty to keep turning a blind eye to it!. So good on you for your choice!. I think it's so great! There are alot of vegans that will be cheering you on!.
As a vegetarian, I am assuming you've copped a lot of abuse from people about your choices already!? There are a lot of rude people out there who are oblivious to what goes on in the dairy and farming industries, so don't bother about those people!. Just make sure you've got the facts to back you up when they ask!.
Check out the PETA website, it's got a lot of thorough information about turning vegan and it also supplies some really awesome slogan tee's for vegans and vegetarians!. My favourite being the "Got Pus!? Milk does"!.!.!. I thought that was hilarious!.
So yeah, be sure to check it out > http://www!.peta!.org/
And congratulations on your choice! Vegans rock!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Easy as pie!. Just get a variety of foods and do not carb out especially on refined sugars, white breads and pastas!. When you do have these carbs have them in more complex and fibrous form like brown rice and whole wheat and or sprouted breads and pastas!.
1!. Great sources of protein include Quinoa: A complete protein great mixed with rice!.
2!. Tofu or Soy: Is higher in complete protein than even beef!.
3!. Spirulina: Is very high in protein, iron, and B12!.
4!. Hemp Seeds: A complete protein that does not have THC, usually made in Canada, high in essential fatty acids as well; great when sprinkled on salads and in breakfast cereal!.
5!. Broccoli: Composed of over 40% protein!.
6!. Amaranth and corn: Together they make a complete protein which is also high in lysine!. This is a great benefit since most grains are low in lysine!.
7!. Peanut butter & Jelly Sandwiches I believe also make a complete protein!. Nuts in general tend to be high in protein but usually not complete!. But as I mentioned before, it is easy to get in conjunction with a variety of foods!.
8!. And finally there is the old staple brown rice and pretty much any type of bean, though I tend to gravitate to black beans the most!.
You can certainly do this and not only survive but be more healthy than you were when you were vegan!. For the first time in my life I can breathe through both nostrils because of the mucus causing problems of ingesting dairy!.
Best of wishes on this new venture!. : )Www@FoodAQ@Com

Definitely!. there are a lot of people who had a vegan diet since birth and they're in pretty good shape!. for those coming from another diet it just takes times for your body to adjust depending on what diet you used to have, in your case it won't be that difficult!.
there is a tremendous range of protein content in vegan food, ranging from 8-12% in cereal grains to the incredibly protein rich soybean which has 40%protein!. many nuts, seeds and beans are 30%!. soybean in particular is a complete protein, that is, they provide 8 amino acids we need, in the proper proportion!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, being vegan is doable regardless of age!. You can get protein from soy products, legumes(beans), nuts!.!.!. I also recomend taking a B12 suppliment or drinking soy/rice/almond milk that is B12 fortified!.
Some schools have a dietician available to students!. If yours does you can review what you're eating and discuss any concerns with them!.
Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes it is fine at any age as long as the person is getting the needed vitamins and nutrients, exercising daily, and doing the diet properly!. You can get protein from nuts, beans, and a few bits of soy but then again many foods contain protein already usually 2 grams or more though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Yes!. Of course!.
I know many life long vegans!.!.!.!. from birth until the end of their long life!.

Yeah but animals were meant to be our food just don't think about the animal its not like you ever met those animals, DOESN"T IT BOTHER YOU EATING LIKE A RABBIT
Trust me make some chicken wings, hamburgers with french fries and everything will seem fine the only thing you have to worry about are the girls, not the animals, maybe dogs and cats but not the food, just make the meat look good and forget the animal it is in a better place! Doesn't that make you feel better than the animals suffering in real life, infact I think they want to be killed and eaten! :DWww@FoodAQ@Com
