My bfs pure vegetarian, and i'm veggy too, we usually find ourselves in pubs munching on the culinary delights of a pack of cheese and onion crisps!.

Lasagne or five bean chilli hmmm oh the excitement!

I once sat in a pub writing abusive things into my 100th five bean chilli of the year!. They unfortunately never got the message!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Actually, its about 4%

You live in the northwest, so do i!. People don't think i'm weird so maybe its not just your diet they are considering !?

From what i can remember there are many vegetarian resturants and hotels in the north west, and some fine vegetarian supporting pubs!. Immediately i can think of a veggie resturant 4 miles away, and a pub with 10 veggie options also 4 milesl away!.

I have no problem finding decent vegetarian food wherever i travel in the UK

Perhaps you need to get out more and find these places !?

You cannot always blame pub owners!. When you look around this forum when people ask for vegetarian suggestions many aswers revolve around pasta & lasagne!.

I cringe when i see those, i never touch the stuff, but you cannot blame pub owners for thinking we all eat it when its a common suggestion from vegetarians themselves!.

If it means that much to you, produce a small leafet of vegetarian suggestions and mail it to all your loclal pubs!. That'll take about 2 hours of your time!. Is the issue worth 2 hours !? If not, its not really an issue!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should be so lucky!. Restaurants aren't out to cater vegetarians and we just have to accept that, unfortunately!.

Just think of what us vegans get when we have to eat out!.!.!.green salad with oil and vinegar, that's about it!. That's why I rarely eat out anymore!.

also, vegetarians don't account for 52% of the UK!. Only about 5% of the UK is veggie!. You messed up the number by about 47%!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

52% of the UK are "vegeatrian" are they - sorry, in the words of Victor Meldrew, I DO NOT BELIEVE IT! - and in any case, apart from salads and nut cutlets, what else should pub landlords supply - I thought they were in the business of selling drinks, not "fancy" foods when - according to you, an unbeleivable more than half of the population DON'T want proper food anywayWww@FoodAQ@Com

If I want the vegetation option I usually pick a soup or salad but I know exactly what you mean!. I come from Cheshire, and have been to most pubs in the local area!. I think vegetable lasagne should be banned now!. It's old!. I'll join forces with you and have a lasagne foodfight!. Edit - Whoot!. There's a real foodfight below me!. lololol xxxWww@FoodAQ@Com

Possibly because they don't know of anything else to serve!. Or more to the point don't want to delve too deep into what else they can concoct to make their menu for vegetarians more interesting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have the same problem !. Occasionally they offer a veggie burger !. Which looks a bit dubious to me !. I live in the North East by the way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I doubt very much your statistics, I work in a school of just under 200 children and no one of them is vegetarian!.

There's always jacket potatoes on practically all pubs, also pasta dishes without meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

they buy them frozen and these are the cheapest options to buy, for good veggie options go to Indian and Greek restaurantsWww@FoodAQ@Com

Pub owners do not in point of fact think that vegetarians only like lasagne!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's easier for them to make without searching for something different!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
