A) I'm vegetarian

My mother was a4 when I first mentioned it; she eats meat, and she didn't really understand my reasons for wanting to be vegetarian!. After a while, when she realised I wasn't going to eat the meat she kept giving me, she became a2; she agreed to read my leaflets about vegetarianism and started preparing more veggie meals, but I know she thought I'd grow out of it (I was 16 at the time!.) Now, she's a1; she supports my choice and has experimented more with vegetarian cooking!. She still eats meat, but she buys much less than before, and she's also realised that a veggie diet can be balanced and healthy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A4!.

My mom really did not want me to become vegetarian and kept trying to talk me out of it!. She said things like "animal protection groups would never allow any animals to suffer when they're killed for meat!." She said I would die from being deprived of nutrients, etc!.

Finally when I was eating dinner one night, I just broke down and told her I couldn't stand to eat meat anymore and I was going to become vegetarian!. She kept saying that it wasn't healthy, but took me to a nutritionist who told her that well-balanced vegetarian diets are perfectly healthy for teens!. From that point on, she was a lot more supportive!. She even made a Tofurkey for Thanksgiving!Www@FoodAQ@Com
