American Vegetarians - I need your help!?!

Question: American Vegetarians - I need your help!!?
Hey guys,
I'm moving to America from Ireland this summer and I need you to recommend some tasty meat alternatives that you guys have over there!. I survive on Quorn at home but I'm pretty sure that's not available in the US!. Is there an equivalent!?
I'm sure there's a much wider range in America than there is here! =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

mmmmm do we ever!
we have lootttsss of organic vegetable and fruit farmers here in America, as well as local farmers!.
Some meat alternatives we have here are Boca, Morning Star, Tofurkey, etc!.
We've got some killer resturaunts and food stores too, like Wild Oats and Trader Jo's that sell a TON of vegetarian foods!.

America's not all hot dogs and steak thankfully! :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well welcome in advance to america!
There are A LOT of meat alternatives here, and you can find a lot of them at a health food store called "Whole Foods"!. They have one pretty much in every town (it's a pretty popular store)!.

Here is a list of alternatives

This was very helpful to me!
I LOVE the Boca Burger, and this month there are free ones at Johnny Rockets (A burger place) in honor of national vegetarian week (may 19-may 25)
I want to also try Morningstar Farms, I have heard it is good!. Here is the specific website for Morningstar farms:

There is also this thing called "tempeh"!. It's a lot better than tofu and you can make it into any meat using different flavoring techniques, you can find many different recipes for that online!.

Hope I helped

From an American vegetarian =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, Quorn is available in the U!.S!. and has been for at least six years!. I know because I went veg in 2002 and ate Quorn until I became vegan a few months later!. My ovo-lacto boyfriend loves the stuff!.

However, there are a lot better analogues, at least in my opinion!. There's Gardenburger, Amy's Kitchen, Tofurkey, and Yves, to name a few!. There's also a relatively new online store called Veggie Brothers that offers solely vegan analogues!. And there are several other vegan online retailers where you can get all sorts of vegan goodies!.

Depending on where you live, you can find some excellent options!. Check out www!.happycow!.net and www!.vegdining!.com to find vegetarian and veg-friendly restaurants (and natural foods stores) in your new home!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
