Question: What is Your favorite type of squash and what do you like to make with it!?

How do you choose between them when each has its own lovely quality and they are not at all the same!?
I love the hard shell squashes a lot!.
Acorn Squash
Turban Squash,
I adore Buttercup Squash
Blue Hubbard makes me really happy when I can find it as does
Butternut too!.
I make soups with them, pies with them, and also bake cakes and muffins with them!.
Additionally, I like to simply cut them in half lengthwise put a pat of butter or Earth Balance in it and sprinkle with nutmeg
and!. Black Pepper, Baking at 375 degrees F basting with the melted fat two or three times until tender!. Which can be up to 40 minutes to an hour!. !.
Zucchini and Summer Squash are great in a stir fry or in my Maryland Not Crab Cakes, or Lentil Loaf!. I stuff Large Zucchini and I absolutely love my Grandmother's Crook Neck Recipe which is to cut it into tender chunks and cook with Butter or Earth Balance and a small amount of water adding Tbs!. Organic Vegan Sugar or Maple Syrup Sea Salt and freshly cracked Black Pepper to the cooked product, mashing it not so thoroughly as to incorporate all of the skin however, which provides for a lovely textural quality!. YUM!

I like to peel and chop acorn squash, toss it with melted butter and maple syrup, and then roast it in the oven at 350 F until it's soft!. Delicious!! The peeling and chopping part can be tricky, though!. I use a steak knife to peel it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i like to saute summer squash and zuchinni in some olive oil!. take it out and saute some tomato, garlic and onion!. add the squash back in the mix and toss in some fresh spinach at the end!. i add some shredded parm tableside!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Butternut!. Cut in half, scoop out seeds, score meat, cover with butter and brown sugar, bake!. Eat!.
