I used to eat a soup called "starvation soup" it was made with...?!
Tomato juice or canned tomatoes, cabbage, carrots and celery for seasoning, you added worchestershire sauce!. Is that considered a vegitarian soup and does anyone have the recipe!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
most worcestershire sauce has anchovies in it, but there are some vegetarian brands; check your store brand or look in a natural foods store!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Some vegitarians allow some seafood, eggs and cheese!. Some do not!. Vegan on the other hand is usually considered at the extreme other end, and won't eat anything that is related to animals!.
To answer your question, I would say it could be considered OK to have worchestershire sauce for some vegiarians, but not all!.!.!. and completely unacceptable for any vegan!.
guessing you are making this for a vegitarian, so i would say you would want to find out for sure what degree this person's views are!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can add a lot more to it too and still make it a veggie soup!.
You can put either chicken or beef boullon (sp) in it for flavor!.
There are tons of vinegars that work great too!. Do not forget the onion and garlic!.
Starchy veggies like corn, potatoes or peas work great too!.
Do not forget green beans and peppers!.
One other idea is at the last minute throw in pieces of apple!. This definitely adds that something extra!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Worcestershire sauce has anchovies, so it is not vegetarian (vegetarians don't eat ANY animals)!. There are a couple of brands of vegan worcestershire sauce, one from Annie's naturals and one called The Wizard (from Edward and Sons)!. Your local Whole Foods or natural foods store should carry them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Just use soy sauce in place of worcestershire sauce, and add some onion pepper and garlic to that soup also!. If you want to increase the protein just add lentil beens!.
BTW: My mom calls that soup Cabbage SoupWww@FoodAQ@Com
