Answers:
haha, sure do! my husband is working on becoming veg, and he's not to a point where he is confident enough to tell people about it!. he comes from a family of all guys (except his mother) and he knows that they are going to make fun of him when he tells them about it (they've teased me a lot!.!.!.!.)!. he's going veg anyway, but he isn't ready to have to defend himself yet!. it's hard for new vegetarians when people tease or question you because it's still something you're learning about!. anyway, i hope that one day he can be confident and proud of it, but it might take time bc of his family situation!. i don't think anyone should have to be ashamed of the way they live!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

In the case of a "closet omnivore"!.
If all your friends/family are vegetarian or hardcore Vgan, where as you yourself prefer a bit of everything, meat included, and you are embarassed to profess it out of fear of rejection or isolation!.

I dont really know what you mean, like can you be a vegetarian, and be ashamed of it!? That really wouldnt make sense!.!.!.!.!.

The only thing that makes me proud to be veggie is that I stand up for something I believe in, but im not that proud cause I should prob go vegan!.

So I guess to answer your question no I dont know anyone like that, and everyone should be proud of being veggie or vegan, they made a commitment to something and they stick to it!.
I guess someone could be embaressed to tell people for fear of what others might think!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not proud of anything i do really!.

I think thats why i'm continually busy ( thats either cause or effect, i'm not sure which ) !. Pride is somewhat reflective on acheivements and things past ( not saying thats a bad thing ) - i don't do that - i tend to do something, then immediately move to the next thing!.

Ask me at the end of the year what i've achieved and i'd have to stop and look at my notes, diary and accounts!. Or more likely ask people around me, i don't think about it!.

I'm a strange one who is "accidentally" sucessful!. I'm not target driven, i like people more than money, success or achievements!. Hence i don't stop to think about whether i'm proud of something or not

For most people, being vegetarian is a choice and as such they probably think its the right choice - i guess its healthy for some people to be proud of that choice - good for them!.

'tis a good questionWww@FoodAQ@Com

If a doctor has placed his patient on a vegetarian diet for medical reasons it is highly possible that that particular vegetarian is indifferent to vegetarianism itself, a bit embarrassed or awkward about telling others that he doesn't eat meat and may feel uncomfortable around "ethical" vegetarians!. I have heard of this before!. I have never actually met a person like this but I heard about one of the board of directors being placed on a veggie diet after a heart attack and how he disliked it and thought it was silly!. I've also heard one other account of a guy placed on one visiting a vegetarian potluck and leaving because he didn't want to be associated with "ethical" vegetarians!. He was only in it for the health benefits that his doctor told him he would receive!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

To be a Veggie or a Non-Veggie is a personal choice!. In India every Non-Veggie is Veggie too as s/he eats lot of chapatis, curd, rice, sabzi and daily paraphernalia!. Whereas Veggie is strictly Veggie!.

Let us respect Veggie feelings also!. I have seen people who will even hate to touch eggs!. We debate with Veggie friends that eggs can be considered as Veggi!. Sunday ho ya Monday!.!.!.!.!.Roj Khao Ande!.!.!.!.!.!.But they have different philosophies!. Recently there was email in circulation!. This email showed various States of growth inside an egg!. How can you kill someone, is the most encountered objection!.

I know Veggies who will not even drink water where Non-Veg items are prepared or served!. But this rigidity seems relaxed when they visit 5-star cuisines!. There they have separate kitchen is the point they make in their favour!.

Consider a situation, when Hubby is Non-Veggie and Wife is Veggie!. One can reverse this order!. The marriage last on sacrifices!. Either of the two makes few sacrifices!.

Veggies are not moved by Kabobs, Biryani, Dumpuks, Hyderabadi chicken, Bhuna, Gosth, Paya, Korma, Lolly pops or other delicacies!. It is difficult to stay away from such delicacies, isn't it!?

So both species, Veggies and Non-Veggies, exists and they can co-exist!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hmm!.!. actually I haven't had a face-to-face encounter with a real vegetarian! (can you believe that!?) Or I met a vegetarian but I just don't know!.
