You're getting some great answers so far!.

I'm sure your vegetarian guest will appreciate veggie burgers or a nice potato salad!.

A nice vegan dish would be a baked potato with baked beans :)

The Vegetarian Society's Recipe Index has lots of delicious meat free recipes!. Check it out at the link below:

(Sorry if this sounds strange, but I want to say thanks for being such a kind & considerate host)!.

Happy cooking, have a great BBQ! =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Big Franks: a hot dog like food that uses soy instead of meat!. You can barbeque them and they taste great!.

Veggie Burgers: the name speaks for itself!. A vegetarian burger!. It can be grilled, slapped on a bun with any condiments and burger dressings you want!.

Bush's vegetarian baked beans: Just open the can, pour it in a large or medium sized glass bowl and pull out a serving utensilWww@FoodAQ@Com

Since your having a barbeque, veggie burgers seem appropriate!. There's lots of different brands to choose from the grocery store!. But try and be considerate and ask her if it's okay if you grill her beggie burger and your meat on the same barbeque, and even if you should use a sifferent spatula!. Some vegetarians are very strict and don't want their food to have any contact with real meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

OK, so a great BBQ recipe for vegiterians is Rosemary kababs:
1) Put different kinds of vegetables (like mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, eggplants & zucchini) in a bowl & drizzle extra virgin olive oil & lots of freshly ground black pepper & salt of course, on them!.
2) Meanwhile, take fresh rosemary stalks, with the leaves still on! Wash them thoroughly!.
3) After the veggies soaked in the olive oil for long enough (at least 30 minutes), skewer them onto the rosmary stalks (use the rosemart stalk as you'd normaly use a kabab skewer)!.
4) If you find some Halumi cheese (in mediteranian stores, or even in the usual grocery store sometimes)- it's amazing on thi kabab!.
5) If you find wheat curd (aka Seitan) in asian/health-food stores, it's also delicious on that kabab- & also a good source for protein :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

go to a local grocery store and look around,, soemttimes they haves simulation food so it looks like a hotdog or patty, but it isnt real meat, somtimes u can get 1 made from soya beans or just a normal veggie patty or made a hashbrown

make sure u use a different utensil for flipping her burger (not the meat one) and u might wanna make hers first before the grill get all meaty

You are really considerate ^^!.!.

i went to my friends birthday once and their mum/dad especially prepared veggie patties!.!.it was a bit burnt but nice~~ I was planning to just eat bread XD XD !.!.!.

anyway after I had one someone at the rest!.!. so I was a bit hungry!.!.

so maybe if you make something espeicially for them to keep it aside from the meat!.!.and make sure someone else doesn't eat it!!!

Potatoe salads and coleslaws and fruit salads are really nice~~ if you can't cook something easily!.!.!.they are simple and everyone can have some ~~

like spaghetti with tomatoes and other vegetables is really nice~~~ and cheese!.
if they are not vegan anything with cheese or eggs is good too~~!

hope all goes well :DWww@FoodAQ@Com

On behalf of your guest I would like to thank you for your thoughtfulness!. However, the problem with us vegetarians is that we don't just cut out meat!. Many of us do not eat egg or egg whites either!. So you will have to read the labels!. Morningstar's and Boca's Veggie Burger products are a perfect case in point!. Some have eggs or egg whites in them and are not acceptable!. If the package says VEGAN you are safe and so is she!. Mayo has eggs in it so you need to be careful about potato or macaroni/pasta salad too!. Veggies and Vegetable or Tossed Green Salads are good but vegetarians are not rabbits either and we do need protein!. There are cans of vegetarian beans in the supermarkets -- Bush's Vegetarian Beans are very tasty and perfect for cook outs!. also the supermarket often has Veggie Hot Dogs in the refrigerated case!. Good Luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
