McDonald Fries?!

Question: McDonald Fries!?
Ok, I've always known that McDonald's fries were made out of animal fat, but I've recently heard that they were no longer made in animal fat!. Is this really true!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
They switched from animal fat to hydrogenated oils in the 90s to get rid of saturated fat, which is linked to heart disease!. Sadly, the trans fats in hydrogenated oils are even worse for the heart!. McDonalds will probably eliminate trans fats in the future if they have not already done so now!. There is a lot of pressure on companies to make this move!.

I think they might fry other things in the same vat, so they are probably not considered "vegetarian!."Www@FoodAQ@Com

McDonald's fries do contain an animal product - Milk!. They also contain beef flavoring for "For flavor enhancement", which is what gives their fries a distinct taste!.

But McDonald's claims that they no longer cook their French fries in animal fat, at least the overseas McDonalds don't, not so sure about the American ones!.

EDIT: Apparently the USA McDonalds don't cook their fries in animal fat any more, they found a way around it by including on their ingredient list the mysterious mysterious phrase: "natural flavor!." So under federal regulations they can get away with claiming their fries are healthier now because they are cooked in veggie oil but they can still add beef in them and list it as a "natural flavor"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The question to ask yourself is the following: Do I really want to sponsor this money-hungry industry that doesn't give a care about the welfare of its animals and the health of its consumers!? How can you knowingly eat something that you know will cause up fermentation in the stomach!? "McDonald" French Fries are pernicious and should be wholly discarded from your diet!. If you have an uncanny taste for garbage and maggots, you may as well find the nearest trash bin and save yourself the $5!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
