Can someone help me think of a good argument?!

Question: Can someone help me think of a good argument!?
so in tech, were doing this stupid egg crash project, but i dont find it right to waste all those eggs who could have been happy little chickens, on some stupid project that no one is going to use in the real world, im against it and i want to come up with something clever to say to my tech teacher, any ideas or sugestings that we could use in replacement with eggs!? for the project, you have to build a little car and put it down the track, and if your egg survives you go onto the next round!. someone help please=DWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
The eggs will never turn into chicks they are not fertilised!. Without wishing to sound to crude but think of an egg as a chickens period, it has to lay it but as stated it is not fertilised!. If you wish to disagree with egg products then complain to the techer about the way the hens are treated to get the eggs (if is school buying they are probably from caged hens) this will sound a more valid complaint then "they could have been cute fluffy chicks"!.
How can you say it will not be used in the real world, one of your lcass mates might become an engineer and find learn about the vibration caused from motion etc useful for their careersWww@FoodAQ@Com

'Some stupid project that no one is going to use in the real world', what a statement!.

Projects like this are used to give you an understanding of accelleration and inertia, they are used in the auto industry to design cars that can protect the occupant in event of impact!.

They are used in the aero industry to design seats that can help save your life, or even parachutes in order to get the canopy just the right size to keep weight to an absolute minimum but still stop you from landing too hard!.

How about even the design of the egg carton itself, it is constructed so as to give maximum protection from shock and impact!.

No, like many others have pointed out, the worst you can argue is waste of food!.

Other than that - you might actually learn something!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Eggs bought in supermarkets aren't fertilized and will not therefore grow into chickens if you left them!. Imagine if little chickens started hatching in your kitchen because you left them out too long!

There are of course all of the arguments as to why you shouldn't buy eggs from a vegan stance but if you're not vegan and eat eggs then you can't really use them as an argument!.

You could always argue on the basis of it being a waste of food!. Then again, a way around this would be to make a tiny hole in the bottom, let the insides leak out (which you can then eat) and then you could either fill the egg up with water or use it hollow!.

I'm rambling!.!.!. why are you so against this again!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

They aren't happy little chickens; they're eggs!. You're not going to use most of the stuff you learn in high school in the real world, but if you pay attention, maybe you'll take something away from this project!.

Don't force your beliefs on an entire classroom!. The eggs aren't going to hatch, so what is your problem exactly!? You'll just end up embarrassing yourself if you try to get him to change the entire project just to please one person!. The world doesn't revolve around YOU, princess!.

And if your problem is the fact that he's "wasting food" (that doesn't sound like your problem at all, however), go buy a carton of eggs and ship it to Africa after the project is complete!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

say this:

:excuse me, i am a vegan (assuming you are, if you aren't get rid of that) and I don't feel comfortable with the idea of using eggs for this project!. i have come up with some alternatives!. if you think they might be too costly, i can pay for them!."

some alternatives:
water balloons

cup with water

melted chocolate egg (if it falls it is messy!)Www@FoodAQ@Com

As others have pointed out, eggs purchased from the supermarket are not fertilized, so they can't possibly be fetuses or killing chickens!. It's more like a period!.

When talking to your teacher, don't call the project stupid!. But do suggest that using eggs seems like a waste of food, not to mention will create a big mess when they break!. Then you suggest using water balloons!. Or you can make papier-mache "eggs", let dry, and use those!. Or use plastic eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could bring up the horrible conditions chickens are subjected to and the hormones they are given to continually produce eggs!. Cruelty!!!!

I like the idea of putting paint in a light bulb!.!.!.!.!.you could use the old style bulbs for your experiment and replace them with the more efficient LED bulbs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sweetie if you tell your tech teacher this he is going to make you take to biology class over again!. The eggs sold in stores are not furtalized by a rooster so will never develope into chickens!.

The only argument I'd have is your wasting food doing this experiment!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Eggs aren't usually fertilised! lol, Chickens lay eggs naturally whether they are fertilised or not!.

That's why you never see one hatch in the supermarket and don't have chicken embryo's come out when you trying to make an omelet!.!.!.lol

So unfortunately answer to your question is no!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think the eggs you use for your project can hatch any chicken at all!. But I would sympathise with wasting good food!. Having said that, at least this wastage is for the benefit of gaining knowledge and not for some silly fun as seen in some stupid games shows!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hmm!.!.!. tell him that it would be the same as throwing a puppy off the roof!.!.!. then see if he sees your point (a fetus would work too, but i'd feel more sorry about a puppy)
edit: thought you were doing an egg drop!. well, put a puppy into the mix!. people love puppiesWww@FoodAQ@Com

Your argument should not center around the "happy little chickens" as the odds that the eggs were fertilized are nil!.

Water balloons or flour sacks could make good vegan alternatives!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

can't you use something filled with paint or something like get light bulbs untwist the metal part pour paint in their and screw it back on its about or slightly thinner then a egg tho but it works you crash light bulbs will breakWww@FoodAQ@Com

You could just bring up the fact that food prices are rapidly rising and that millions of children go to bed hungry every night!.

That's an argument no one can deny!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

wow i wish folks could spell ! anyhow the use of non fertile ovum is a waste of food!. paint balls work as well or try plastic Easter Eggs!.or Cadburry Eggs then you could eat them afterwords!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i dont know of a gud argument and i do stand up for what ur saying but cud u maybe use a water bomb or something else fragile instead of an eggWww@FoodAQ@Com

Soy eggs are a good alternative!. :o) Less messy, too!Www@FoodAQ@Com

What a waste of food!Www@FoodAQ@Com
